Ride the winds. Birds are able to glide on the wind, and probably have great fun doing so.

Probably ride it out in their nest or hop into a patch of long grass to curl up? Im sure theyre free to do what ever they want including fly around to get some exercise? But my guess is they hide away on the ground somwhere or on the leeward side of natural features, buildings trees or whatever?

Well if it's too windy, they take shelter in trees or under bushes. But until then, it's very entertaining to watch them try to fly as they are literally held in place by the wind.

We had a huge storm here last week with lots of wind and heavy rain. I was on my frontporch and was suprised to see a small bird sitting on the drain pipe that comes off my roof. It just sit there till the storm was over.

Birds can fly in moderate wind conditions. However if they detect a storm coming, they will either go to their nests, or huddle on the ground in open areas, to survive the storm.

Well they could go get a kite :P
ok ignore that
well depends really its just like us walking we can handle the wind but if it gets bad we would stay inside just like birds if weather condidtions get bad they go home :) But they glide in wind most the time
