Without question, yes. I may not agree with the person who says she believes because she's felt the touch of God in her life, but I can at least respect that she's had an experience that changed her. Cameron's lame attempts to "prove" the existence of God without relying on faith are just plain embarrassing. It makes me embarrassed for my Christian friends and family.

The Christian religion is based on faith and faith alone. The definition of faith is belief that is not based on proof* therefore Kirk Cameron should not feel the need to attempt to 'prove' his faith, since the idea of faith requires no proof.

Not only being an Atheist would I respect Kirk Cameron more if he spoke about faith rather than proof but I believe I would even respect him more for this is if I were Christian.

Kirk Cameron was once a "devout atheist" because he saw too much hypocrisy and self-righteousness. However, after reluctantly going to church with a friend, God began to reveal Himself to Kirk Cameron. He became a Christian. His faith and proof go together. He just wants to present the facts so others don't have to make a misinformed decision.

With the kind of "proof" he provides, yes. I would have an iota more of respect for him. But respect for any amount of faith should not overide respect for good evidence.

Kirk Cameron is an atheist who managed to infiltrate into Christianity. He's changing the system from within. With his speeches he has turned many Christians away from Christianity.

How on earth could I not respect the guy? He's our secret spy, and he's doing such a good job!

I would have more respect for Kirk Cameron if he stepped into a boxing ring with Dustin Diamond.

I would respect Kirk Cameron more if he came to his senses, looked at reality objectively, and renounced his former irrational beliefs in such magical fairytales as "god."

Proof rather negates faith, doesn't it? In the thousands of years that Christianity has been around people haven't had nor needed proof. He is belittling that faith by even thinking people want proof. Isn't faith enough for him?

It seems to me that he isn't so secure after all.

Yeah. Like, I can respect Billy Graham because he was almost all carrot with just a little bit of stick, you know? He said, "This is a good way," not "you're awful and you need to do things my way." But Cameron's trying to start a knife fight with a toothpick, and he looks like an idiot.
