I am throwing a couples shower, where both male and females would be in attendance. There will be a fairly young crowd with ages ranging from 21-35.

I threw a baby shower for my sister not too long ago and invited men and women (her request). The favors I had available were votive candles in an organza bag for everyone. The men loved them as much as the women did!!

I really like the cigar idea also, I think it would go over really well & let the men know you are thinking about their interests as well.

Although I wanted my bridal shower to be just women (it was, besides my husband), I really like the idea of having men and women at a shower. The gifts being bought are for the couple, why not have the men involved also? It shows how society is getting into a less sexist era. People who have negative things to say on here about just should not have answered!

I've never heard of guys going to a wedding shower - how sweet! What kinds of gifts are you getting the women? Is there a way to get guy versions of those gifts? Like, if you're hitting up Bath & Body they have guy stuff too - you could make a little gift pack for them. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend...ties if they're not in the bridal party would be nice, too.

The male guest? Could you add some more details... I don't get what you mean.

Are you having a "couples" shower and want to know what to give the couple? Are there some male friends of the bride going to be there and you want to know about favors?

A wedding shower should be gifts for the couple. Something they both want and can use.

You are friends with the groom so you are going to lean more towards stuff he wanted put on the registry, so...

It depends on the guy.

I'd get my guy friend either a gift certificate to the movie theater, something camping related (since all my guy friends are outdoorsy) or something that he is really into and trying to get her into. For example, he loves to kayak. I might get a package deal of kayaking lessons. Then they'd be able to do it together. I got one of my friends one of those margarita mixing machines and one of those portable ice makers (makes ice every 8 minutes regardless of outside temperature). They have it out by their pool.

My husband is the chef so we had some really nice utensils and cookware on our registry that was all for him. Nearly every man grills though so the grill tool sets are great!

If he has a sense of humor (and you aren't giving this to him at a shower with grandparents invited) you could get him something he'd really enjoy--something a lil naughty.

But its a wedding shower so it definitely has to be something for the BOTH of them since it is about the both of them starting their life together.

You dont get 1 gift for each. You get ONE gift for the couple. Which means buy something off the bride's wedding registry. (coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven, etc). Those are gifts that are for a couple starting out. So dont get 2 gifts get 1.

I 2nd the cigar answer...I did this for my engagement party. I went to a local cigar bar and asked a few of the patrons which cigars they recommended. When you buy them in bulk , you can get a good deal. I also purchased miniature bottles of champagne and gave them with the cigar...the men loved it!
