this guy has told his boss and co-workers that we have had sex while at work. True or not true, there is no proof. I went to superviser and told him that it was not true and that I was upset about the rumers. Is there any thing I can do to cover my ***? Can I get in trouble because of what this guy is saying?

Go to your supervisor one more time, and tell him that if he doesnt do anything, that you will press charges on not only him for commiting a crime (Sexual Harassment), but that you will sue the company (Which you can) for giving notice of it, and them not doing anything about it.

I think you did an excellent idea of bringing in to the Supervisor immediately and explaining the issue. If there is an issue with it, the Supervisor would have the upperhand to make that decision, not your Boss. Since there is no proof and basically it is just a rumor, I dont think you can get in trouble for that. At the most, there might be a talk with you, your coworker, and the Supervisor.

Personally, I would have the Supervisor talk with you and this guy so that you two can confront the situation toghether. Usually people who lie and are in that situation get all nervous or tell choppy stories.

Whatever you do, dont walk around like you did something bad. Continue to do your job and ignore the ignorant.

Did you have sex? You know it does not matter, he should not be telling people this. This is called sexual harassment. Now the truth will come to light, but you can file charges (criminal) for defamation of character and sexual harassment. Your company will probably fire him before it goes to court. Now you need to decide just far do you need to go with this for yourself. I would go all the way if it were me, but you need to decide. Call an attorney and find out for sure because each state is different. ( this is only in American too)
In the United States this is sexual harassment whether you alls bumped uglies or not. A person can not go around the work place and talk about another person sexually - no matter how true or false the statements are.

I strongly doubt that you can get in trouble behind this if you didn't have sex with that man while at work. There is no proof therefore it's a dead issue being that it can't be proven. Although some people may believe what he said and may judge you and some will see straight through the bullsh@# and never mind his a#$. But in the end you just have to stick to what you know is what truly happened and didn't happen and remain strong until all this blows over. Good Luck !!!!!

This guy should get in big trouble. This is sexual harrasment but if it is true, its possible that both of you could get fired. SO i would go to the supervisor again and tell him that this is not true and you want something done about it. If he does not do anything then u need to go to the HR department and tell them the same thing. I think the guy should get fired.

You don't say whether or not you actually slept with him. If you didn't, that's a clear case of sexual harrasment and best taken up with your boss. Either way, he shouldn't be blabbing about it, and in then it's a case of his word against yours. In that case, whoever is the most credible wins. If's he's blabbing, it comes off as bragodoccio, and he's already a step behind. Keep your mouth shut and don't dignify his allegations with a response.

Every company is different and all have their own policy on inter-office relationships. As long as he isnt your supervisor technically you cant get in trouble unless stated in your companies policy.

You can however, get in trouble because of the unprofessionalism that is a rumor, espically since it is pertaining to a topic such as this.

How about you not screw guys in your office and then you wouldnt have to worry about it.

No proof, so no worries. If I were you I would go up to the manager and tell them if they don't do anything about this guy you will sue for sexual harassment! Because that's what it is! You have rights! Stand up for your consitutional right girl!!! If they threaten to fire you or fire you tell them that they will be hearing from you lawyer and get one! You have a solid case! They will be paying out through the As-s! Trust me! You have no worries, except what to do with all that cash!!!! $$$$$$$$$$

Report to HR and your supervisor. If it continues, see an employment lawyer. However, the more complaining you do, the less pleasant your job would be.

If it were me, I'd laugh it off and tell everyone he's full of sh!t. And if you really did it, then I'd go to him privately and say, "dude - that kind of talk is not cool. Will you stop it?" Get him to say he will.

I would advise your human resources department in letter form. Make it clear that your character and reputation as an employee is being slandered and that you expect them to take proper measures and discipline the culprit.

If you have to take matters further, at least you will have documentation of the incident.
