Yes, your soon to be ex can try to get you an ERD (Early Return of Dependents). It is a drawn out process, but if he isn't getting orders anytime soon, an ERD is the only way to do it where the Military will ship your stuff back before he gets orders.
Also to all of the people that say they are taxpayers and they won't pay it; you paid for ALL of us that are stationed overseas to get here, and you will also pay for almost all of us to return stateside. That is just how it goes.

^^^^^^ answers...real nice.
Anyway, I don't have a good answer for you, as I was never married when I was overseas with the military. If your divorce is not final at the time you leave and you still have your dependent ID card, you might look at flying space avaialble...sign up at the nearest air base and take ANYTHING headed to the US. It might not get you close to home, but will at least get you into the right country. From there, hopefully you would be able to fly home.
I honestly don't know the space A rule well enough to know if you are allowed to fly it without your sponsor, though.
Good luck to you. I'm sorry about your divorce. Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens far too often in the military.

Thanks for the thumbs down. Idiot.
Anyway, Holbrook is right. Early return of dedpendents...I remember that now (it's been awhile!). That's the correct answer. Everyone give him a thumbs up and select him as best answer!

Can you fly Space A? Once you get divorced, you are no longer command sponsored, and the military has no obligation to help you get back home. So try flying Space A before the divorce is final. Otherwise, it's out of your own pocket to fly back to the states. Ask the legal office on base/post, or the passenger terminal would know.

Two things>>First CHUCK T....we pay taxes too...so in all actuality we are paying ourselves...Second...you are a military wife??....since you are NOT the soldier, you might have to pay out of your own pocket..the best thing I would tell you is go to your husbands NCO...or if he is a NCO, then go to his higher up....the military (supposedly) protects the soldier so the spouse can't screw them, but they make sure the soldier pays child support and such..they should be able to help you out....good luck....oh i forgot to add...the military will probably ask if you have family to pay your way back...be prepared...and is your soldier that sorry of a spouse not to pay for you to get back at least???!!! sorry, hope i didnt step on any toes.....

yes. your spouse/sponsor must request an Early Return of Dependants for you. They will pay for you and a limited number o fpounds of HHG as well. Although to be honest I do not know if there is a limit as to WHERE they will move you.. as is the case for people getting out and only being shipped to thei Home of Record.
theymay only pay to get you back to a point of entry CONUS, and you would be responsible to get to wherever.
This happened to a friend of mine while Ilived in Japan.

Provided that you are Command Sponsored, and your spouse does an Early Return Of Dependents (EROD), the gov't will return you to the place that you left. Please note, I did NOT say that it would pay for you to go home. If home is in California, and you PSCed from Maryland, the gov't will only pay for you to go back to Maryland.
Check with your spouse's S1 (Personnel) section. They have the information and forms that need to be completed.

Yes the Military will pay for you to go home, just like they paid for you to come there...your husband has to do an Early Return of Dependents...but they will only send you to where you are from..i.e..if you are from Arkansas they will not send you to Hawaii...and they will ship your household goods home for you...but after that you are on your own...no more PX or Medical...

My sister got a divorce from her husband while they were stationed in Italy. Yes, your husband can file for a Early Return of Dependants and move you and your things. If he doesn't do this paperwork go see his commander. You can't file this, he has to!
