We do know that. More appropriately Latin America should be Romanace America. The sub branch of Latin based languages referred to as Romanance languages are Spanish, Portugese, and French. I guess Latin America has a better ring to it than Romance America? Don't you think?

The US has been a melting pot from the beginning. One of the main items that has held this country together has been the language. It could be guessed at one of the reasons Europe has had so many wars is they have different languages.

Remember even in the Bible when God wished to stop an endeavor he disrupted communications!

First of all, I did know that. Second, I don't care. This seems irrelevant, and has nothing to do with politics.
