to maintain the religous freedom of ALL faiths (or lack thereof) that we enjoy in the US (and other countries)?

Are you willing to sacrifice having your religious agenda promoted in government so that we may all enjoy religious freedom? How free would even the majority be to practice their religion if laws were enacted to promote it, regulate it, and/or limit it?

I believe in religious freedom 100% for all. Religion is a private matter and has no place in government, so all religions are respected to be practiced freely in private.

There should always be religious freedom. That was a very important part of the founding of this nation. Freedom of religion has flourished in America more than in any part of the world or any time in history. Is the system perfect? No, but I am grateful for how well it has worked.
For the first part of your question, it depends on what you mean by pushing "your religion's agenda." We live in a Democracy (for the most part), and there is no way that you can totally impose your agenda on the country. I believe in standing up for what you believe in. I believe that you should fight for what you believe are good principles. If you see something that you feel is unacceptable in society, you should stand up against it.
Having said that, I don't think that people should be pushing so that their vision of the future determines the course that the nation takes. For instance, we shouldn't being trying to shape our foreign policy so that it fits the Book of Revelation. But I don't think anyone is trying to do that right now.
Finally, we certainly should not be pushing for laws that limit people's expression of religion unless their religious practices are obviously harmful to others. Laws should not promote or limit freedom of religion but should let people worship how, when and what they want to.

Religion being injected into government is a bad thing, I think. Oh, most may think it's ok at first. Let's say that our government says only religion is ok (no atheists). Everyone else either has to lie, leave or die. Well, most might think that's ok at first. But then what if the government decides that only christianity is ok? And then what if the government decides that only catholicism is ok? Then what if they decide only certain sects of catholicism is ok? It goes on and on until there are very few people left or a rebellion occurs.

Not my religious agenda, so much as my moral views. This government of ours is supposed to reflect our values. If the majority of citizens are Christians, and there are only twelve (not an accurate number, but you get the picture) muslims, should the millions of Christians have to set aside their beliefs so a dozen people won't have hurt feelings? Besides, I think it doesn't matter that "Thou shalt not kill" comes from God, as it is a darn good rule regardless of one's personal belief system.

Seperation of Church and State. That is what this country was founded on. I was born and raised here. I choose to live here and this is what I believe is right. I do not feel religious agenda has a place in government at all. My .02 cents. Blessings, Diana

Religion never needs to be in politics. We weren't founded on Christian values, we founded on values period. Men from all religions since the dawn of time have been going to the top of a mountain and getting morals.
God is for church, freedom is for government. America was always for the underdog. I would hate to see us lose that.

politics and religion mix like oil and water....i would say laws should be in place to protect the freedom of religious choice ..but religion should not be singled out for gains of each religion

I think that Christianity should be pushed in politics. When the founding fathers came to this country they based laws on the bible, and christianity. Now everyone wants to come and try to make us believe what they want, but Lord knows we can't push our beliefs on them. When it comes to Christianity, it's sit down and shut up, you're offending people. But when you hear about muslims, and islam, I have to openly hear their prayers, and their calls to prayer if I'm in the right city. How is that freedom of religion? It's freedom of religion for all other religions EXCEPT christianity.

There should not be laws enacted to promote, regulate, and/or limit any religion. However, each citizen should be free to vote according to his/her conscience, which reflects his/her religious beliefs and values.

Are you suggesting that people should vote against their conscience in order to not offend other people? That would be plain, old-fashioned cowardice IMO.
