I don't know what resources you are throwing at this, but give me a FAQ about how you deal with sweaty clothes in a professional environment and other silly little issues. Also, collect information, maybe using google maps, on safe biking routes.

I would ride my bike everywhere. It'd be great exercise and gas is outrageous and I can barely afford it. But, I don't have a bike. I used to, but it was stolen. Hm. Maybe if you make a fundraiser for people to collect old bikes they don't use and give them away then people wouldn't have an excuse. Sure, some people might not be able to bike to work (some people it is a long way) but they can bike to a friend's, gas station for a soda or snack, etc.. I would, if I had a bike. I'd love a bike. Unfortunately.. I don't have a lot of money. Trying to support two people on one wage that isn't a lot at all. So I can't justify spending money on a bike when there are so much else I need to spend money on.

You know I have contemplated riding the work many times, BUT there are certain drawbacks that I see. 1) I live in Texas which means it is HOT HOT HOT. I am not sure how I could bike to work and not be all sweaty once I arrive. 2) If the bike breaks down, I would be out of luck and in the middle of nowhere. 3) In Houston it rains ALOT, randomly, which means I would be soaked when I arrived to work. To sum up, it is hard for me to overcome the idea of those 3 problems. If you could come up with solutions I would be happy.

it fairly is the difficult argument. I stay approximately 3 miles from artwork. The path is flat. and that i'm able to now bike it w/o breaking a sweat. yet maximum folk do no longer artwork that on the factor of artwork. or maybe my path isn't desirable. site visitors would properly be risky at circumstances. fairly could be on the ball. cycling prevalent will improve the probability i could get into an accident....great deterrent. could be much less confusing to cajole them to apply their bike for errands like choosing up take out or going to Walgreens or getting a haircut. those errands are frequently interior the three mile variety. it fairly is an incredible thank you to do issues in cities the place parking is a undergo. final weekend I grew to become an errand right into a excitement/well-being holiday. street 11 miles to drop off a verify at my landlord's homestead. enjoyed the solar, explored areas of the cities I under no circumstances been to, observed new eating places, stumbled on a highway user-friendly... became great, yet maximum folk could say you're loopy to holiday 22 miles to do an errand. it fairly is the mentality of people.

I'm a mom and I guess I walk to work all the time. My dh works 40 miles from home, up several highways and across two rivers. I can't see him walking or riding a bike.
He does take public transportation, tho.

If you could get a bicycle manufacturer or retailer to offer enough of a discount to make it worth my while. I have priced bikes, and the ones sturdy and rugged enough for such use are way to expensive for the average working person.
