My sister is 20 yrs old and I'm 22 for the past couple years (ever since she started college) she hasn't liked me as much as she used to. I feel like a ratty stuffed animal she's outgrown. She acts like I'm an embarrassment and talks to me like I'm a mentally retarded 5yr old! She's become very shallow. I tried talking to her-that doesn't work. Would a head to toe makeover w/ weight loss help? I know I'm kind of old to care what she thinks but I can't help it, I want to be liked by everyone. I'm open to any suggestions that'll at least get her talking to me like I'm normal person.

You can only try for so much and recieve so little. You can try to change yourself, but if that does not work then just accept that she has out grown. I know you want to be liked by everyone, but the more you try to please everyone the less likely you are to please yourself as a human being. Try discussing this with her and tell her how you feel about your relationship as siblings and that as part of a family you feel the bond as sisters should be stronger.

Im two years older than my sister (19-17) and we get along good most of the time. However when she has certain people around, she use to act different, like she was sooooooo much better than me. But eventually (after having a kid) she calmed down a bit. No a make over wont help, and you shouldnt do that to force your sister to like you. what you should do, is try and talk to her about how you feel and how you wish the two of you were closer.

Don't change yourself for HER, or anyone else. If you love yourself the way you are, stick with it. Never, ever change yourself to get someone to like you, because they probably won't anyway.

She's a younger sister. It happens that way in nearly every family. I was a younger sister, and couldn't STAND to be around my sister (who's two years older too) until we were both old enough to be out of college and have our own lives. Now we're the best of friends and hardly ever fight.

Just give her time. Right now she's in her "I'm an adult in college" uppity stage. It'll pass when she hits the real world.

Just continue to be yourself, love her and show her you still care. Your sister has entered a different stage in her life and will eventually 'find' herself again. In the meantime, I am sorry to say, you may have to put up with feeling rather 'outgrown'. In other words, it isn't you, it's her...

She is growing up and feeling independent. It happens with parents too. My 20 old daughter and I were so close...now she knows it all and I am stupid....or so she thinks! But it will settle, she too is just finding herself.

u cant be liked by everybody and that includes your sister.just be urself when she comes around i'm sure she'll apprecita that alot rather than seing another you.she's mixed up with other poeple who might make her look down on poeple like you but talk to her about how you really feel about her new behaviour and i'm sure you'd even help her to find herself again.

Its time you know, you can't MAKE someone like you, even your sister. Being yourself is ultimately more important than putting on a false front for their benefit.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE HAVE TO PART WAYS AS MUCH AS I HATE TO SAY THIS, JUST GIVE HER, HER OWN SPACE AND YOU TAKE YOURS IF SHE WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE TIME OF DAY THEN BACK OFF.

It sounds like she is judging you. She will get over it if you continue to be sweet to her.
