Is it an actual path? I've heard that it is and it's basically what you believe. Is this right?

That's exactly what I am, Eclectic. Eclectic is defined as "Selecting a mixture of what appear to be best of various doctrines, methods, or styles." I've merged my Jewish upbringing with what I have learned about Paganism, particularly Wicca, to make a religion that works for me. Basically I have borrowed ideas and traditions from different religions to create a unique religion of my own. All that matters is what you believe, not what others say you should believe.

The beauty of the Craft is that its whatever you need it to be. There are basic beliefs that we all share such as the God and the Goddess, but we all use different aspects.
I look at it this way. Most everything that has to do with paganism was destroyed when the Christians decimated the faith. We have old temples and some books on it, but not much. So no one knows FOR SURE what to do. Not to mention its the intent that makes a difference.
I learn what I can and am considering taking a teacher, but I enjoy learned from all different covens so I'm not sure. I will know when the times come. The Gods will let you know your path.

Sure, it's the best kind. Basically, what eclectic means is that you take what seems true and wise and useful to you from wherever you find it, and use it to do your True Will. So, for example, I have a statue of Ganesha (Hindu) and one of Isis (ancient Egyptian). I use Tarot, but have many decks with different styles, I light candles but draw my decisions about which colors are appropriate for which intentions from several sources, and so on. I read, I ask questions, and I meditate. Then I pick out what works for me.

Personally, I think it is the truest Wicca pathway, unless you are a hereditary witch and learning from your mother and grandmother.

Yes, it is an actual path and it simply means that if it works for you, then it works.. you take from all kinds of different paths and make it your own.
I personally think it's the best form of Wicca.

Yes, it is one of the many paths of Wicca. You see, like all of other "religion" Wiccans can basically pick and choose what satisfies their egos and personal beliefs. This has created different sects of Wicca and magical paths.

yes, basically. You take what makes sense to you from other paths and form them into your own personal path.

yes!
it is a path you forge for yourself, taking what is most relevant to you from different areas. it is a beautiful, personal path that allows you freedom to research different aspects and inform yourself in a continual journey.
enjoy!

There is more to being an eclectic than just doing whatever you want. I suggest researching one of the many eclectic traditions for more data.

You got it :) For me its a case of following a pretty Pictish pantheon, but calling upon others outside of it for specific needs!

That is correct. You can incorporate aspects of other religions if your path so indicates. It is up to you.
