No, it was not all right for Lot to have sex with his daughters. If you read the account, you will see that his daughters chose to get him drunk on wine in order to accomplish this task. It stands to reason then that the act of sex between father and daughter was not acceptable to the people of that time any more than it is today. The explanation that the daughters were merely trying to continue Lots bloodline was the excuse they used. I would suggest that this is a prime example of doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. But, wrong is wrong.

If you consider the times in which they were living, you understand that there were no other men available to these women. Neither did Lot initiate these impregnations. Had this event not happened, the Moabites (from whence came Moses' wife) and the children of Ammon would not have survived. Perhaps you are not mature enough to fathom the truth. Were you and your sister the only two people alive, I guarantee you that you would father her sons and daughters. You're not a child anymore. Reason with a mature mind.

In this story the Bible does not condone these actions. In fact, the daughters are committing the sin, but the point is that Lot should not have been drinking, because in that altered state he allowed his daughters to seduce him. So no, it is not OK for Lot to have sex with his daughters. So come on, don't pick and choose from the Book. Read the whole thing so that you understand what is going on, instead of taking one part of one story and reading it completely out of context.

I've never read anywhere in the Bible that said it was OK for Lot to impregnate his daughters. In fact, everyone I know has always read that as a sin. The Bible talks about many things that happened, both good and bad. Just because the story is told, does not mean that the Bible is saying it is OK.

No it isn't. Read Genesis 19, 30 -36, & U will discover that Lot knew nothing about it. having been made drunk by his daughters. The offsring of these illegal unions were not counted among the people of Israel. Look at Numbers 25, where Israel is seduced by Moab. Hope this helps, & God bless U.

God didn't approve of this. It is only written to show the sinfulness of mankind including Lot and his daughters. If God had written a perfect book with perfect people and everyone lived happily thereafter, you would have a fairy tale and not the truth of Scripture. God didn't approved of Abraham saying Sarah was his sister when she was his wife and half sister. Throughout the Bible you will see these sins being dealt with by God. God saved Lot only because Abraham asked God to save Lot. Originally God said He was destroying all of Sodom and Gomorrah meaning every person in those cities were evil including Lot. It was pretty well proven when Lot got drunk and slept with his daughters.
God would have taken Lot out, but Abraham saved Lot's life.
God loved Abraham and God did this for Abraham and Abraham only.

I thought lots daughters got him drunk and then slept with him. It wasn't like god said sleep with your dad they thought the whole world had been destroyed so decided to repopulate it.
But yeah I see your point Incest isn't spelled out as bad but homosexuality is.
The bible is just weird face it. Thats the problem with a book that has been written by man and then canonized by some entity it never updates to existing times so is just old and outdated.

Right, and don't forget that they were drunk when all of that happened! It's amazing how that is OK to some people, while they condemn gays.
From the book of Genesis, ch. 19:
19:34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
19:35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
19:36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

lots daughters got him drunk and slept with him, and if you read the context, God sure doesnt look happily upon that, and if you look later in the bible, the descendants of those two pregnancies were not favored in the sight of the Lord
