I think that I look best between 125-130lbs, after which I become "chubby". I am presently between 133-138 as I fluctuate like mad. My doctor advised between 125-135lbs. What is the optimal bmi for a woman????

BMI for a woman who is 5'5 is considered normal if it is 18.5 - 24.9. 25.0 - 29.9 is overweight. With your height and weight, it gives a BMI of 23 which should be fine.

But if you still feel 'chubby', eating healthy and working out on a constant basis won't hurt and will help you lose the few pounds you don't want while helping maintain the body weight you DO want.

Your weight and height sound fine to me though. But working out and staying healthy never hurts.

I don't think so! If you check your Body Mass Index, you have a BMI of 22.5 which is in the range for a healthy body weight.

BMI Categories:

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

No, you're not too heavy. But if you prefer to be between 125-130 then lose a few.
