Open a bank account with half of it. The other will be an educational toy. Anything of educational value for your child will be well spent. Go toy r us to find out what is best within your budget. It's really nice to shop as a family for the 1st birthday of your lovely little gal. Go this weekend.

I would say for a one year old that 100 dollars is far too much. Half of the tings my 15m old played with a 12m she dont! Buy her something that will grow with her. Like a small outdoo jungle gym, if you want to spend 100$. This is a toy she can play with til she is 4 or 5. All depending on how tall she gets. Meijer and Wal Mart have these on sale right now too. 75$.

I'd go with a slide, one of those Step Two things. Or, a kitchen (although this would be a better age 2 gift).

You could save yourself some money, unless you are trying to impress her parents with the amount you spend.
At that age, she would probably be more than happy with a brightly coloured ball to play with, wrapped in bright, shiny paper. And she would probably spend more time playing with the paper!

This is what we brought our son when he turned one, and he absolutely adored it. All his friends love it too.
