Europe is not pro-Palestinian. Just because some of their politicians and academic elite have grown spines and recognized the human rights violations committed against the people of Palestine, does not mean that the entire government is pro-Palestinian. I wish they were, then the sanctions lifted would help a lot with the current situation in Palestine. Anyone with a heart would see that what is going on in Palestine is atrocious, European or otherwise. The Zionist regime are the terrorists. Plain and simple.

Bad history. Britain declared war against Hitler before anyone else would even stand up and take notice. America didn't get involved until their own forces were attacked - by the Japanese, not the Germans. What Hitler was doing to the Jews didn't trouble Americans until 1941. Germany had the most powerful military in the world at the time and it's no surprise that the countries around them fell into line without resistance. Still, most European countries had their own resistance movements - which no doubt the Nazis referred to as "terrorists" or "insurgents".
So go back to school. Israel has the right to exist, and it must. It must not be at the expense of any other people though. The conditions lived under by Palestinian civilians is abominable when there is such a rich nation beside them. We might all help that. If the west had ensured that Arab and Jew could co-exist peacefully there might not be so much anti-Semitism and terrorism now. But it would be a good start if people like you didn't wallow in ignorance.

Shanti,
I do not know why you say "Europe is pro-Palestinian".
As anywhere else in the world, people have different opinions and different feelings about different things.
True, I remember as a child that Israel was very popular, the music, the spirit, the country. In general, I feel that that respect has slowly gone over the years. It is difficult to like Israel. It is difficult to like any country that has hundreds of thousands of people in camps around all its borders.
Can't you picture how the world can see Israel ? A regional superpower, weaponed up to its teeth, in a place it does not seem to be in peace with, with the most modern and financial backings from the worlds superpower...
I saw some of your soldiers standing there, with modern weapons, every 50 meter or so, on a wall high above a poor alley filled with arab people in a souk...
That has not left me with a good heart towards Israel.
Anyway, good luck to all the people with good intentions.

It's not that Europe is Pro- Palestinian but maybe it's because they educate themselves instead of listening to the bias media's. Why should they take responsibility for the Holocaust? They didn't support it or commit the muders. I am American and the same about slavery. Why should I have to take the blame for something I didn't do? It's no different. Yes the Holocaust was so horrible but the Zionist regime are doing the same to the Palestinians just in a different way.
I know and the world knows that the holocaust didn’t begin with Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen and the ovens. It began with the enactment of racist laws against Jews, with a book, a kristlnacht and similar acts, the kind of which Israel and her terrorist soldiers and Gestapo-like settlers have been doing to the Palestinians.
-~ SLAUGHTERING PALESTINIANS AT A RATIO OF 8 vs 1` AND THEN CLAIMING YOU, THE ZIONIST ARE THE VICTIMS OF TERROR_ISM AND ANTI+SEMITISM IS SIMPLY LAUGHABLE BY ANY RATIONAL, LOGIC, RELIGION OR CREED. NO EXCUSES ARE CREDIBLE` FOR THESE LEVELS OF TERRORISM. NOT EVEN THE JEWISH HOLY TORAH *ALLOWS KILLING BEYOND AN EYE FOR AN EYE!

Its funny how all you people that give out and accuse people of discrimination and stereotyping can happily lump all of europe together and speak of each country as the same.
First off, there was only 4 countries that didnt put up a resistance agaisnt the nazis. Maby the europeans should apologise for being up agaisnt a superior fighting force?
They stood still? Give me a break, this is one of the most moronic questions I've ever seen.
And when you say europeans, your talking about over 20 countries, but YOU THINK EVERY COUNTRY IS THE EXACT SAME???? With the same principles beliefs and values? oh my god. This is the most Ironic question ever
This is ridiculous.
I am living in Israel, and I am often told what my opinions are of Israel becuase Im european. I'm Irish and I really don't like that I must think the way europeans do. Its annoying especially since Im pro Israel.
In Ireland, mainly the nationalists in northern Ireland, there is a small support of palestinians. As they feel a connection with being occupied.
Thats not my views, but Im just agreeing that there is palestinian support.
Anyway this was a retarded question and I can't believe how many supporters it brought out.
Please don't be so ignorant to lump all europeans views as one.
And europeans "stood standing" in WWII? Hitler didnt democratically take over europe. He killed his way into it. Give me a break

The Israeli-Palestinian issue, and the international world's reaction to it, is an incredibly complex, long-standing ubiquitious issue and I think your view is oversimplified and one-sided. It is not just a matter of being for Israel and against Palestinians and vice versa. You say you only speak to Arabs because you say they have honor. So, an Arab who blows up buildings and plant bombs have honor? And if you talk to Europeans and they refuse to take responsibility for the holocaust- why should they? They weren't alive or were small children when it did happen! The current German nation is not the same German nation of 1939. And what Nazis? Also just a reminder that Europe is not as unified as your portray it to be and the US is just as "innocent" or "guilty".

Ok i know one thing that europeans are the activists in human rights. European countries are the countries that respect the human rights most (at least now). Concerning honor, just remember although arabs and jews always fight. They are still belong to the middle eastern "climate" The place of birth of honor and customs and traditions.
By the way we are not a "tiny Hole" in the world.
For Europe being pro-palestinian i guess you are wrong. Most major european countries want Israel and Paletinians to live in peace. At least that is what they say

1. Europe suffered a lot by the Nazis. Do you know how much Greece resisted? Enough to delay the Germans to go in the winter to Russia and lose in Russia because of the cold. Do you know how many Greeks died? Resisting to Nazis for 4 years? About 1 million, when the entire population of Greece is now 10 million! So don't tell us we co-operated with the Nazis.
2. As for Palestinians, we sympathize with all people who suffer and have the right to a country.

palestine existed before Israel
I'm not saying Israel doesn't have the right to exist, Palestine has the right to exist too. Both Israel and Palestine are victims of the war. Let peace be part of this world

I would like to preface this very strong opinion about Europe by saying that it does not apply to all regions of Europe, and certainly not to Europeans individually. It is merely an opinion on Europe in general and all it has accomplished:
Europe has classically been a region of racial supremecists, religious intolerance, and violent sexists. Basically, everything we considered arch-evil has been popular in Europe in the not-so-distant past. For racial supremecy, I can point either to the Nazis or to colonialism; while some countries can argue that they were anti-Nazi, nearly all of the big ones colonized other areas, and all who did were racist and genocidal. Religious intolerance is easy - I can point to the Crusades, the persecution of Jews, the battles over the protestant reformation etc. Sexism - auto de fay anyone?
Basically, Europe has been a hellhole of morality for most of its history, yet paradoxically has always considered itself superior to the rest of the world in everything. Europe is a detestable blight on this planet.
This is a truth for Europe: you guys don't like Jews. You just don't. Since the rise of Christianity you have actively persecuted Jews, and not much has changed nowadays. I guess the racist roots of your ancestors are slow to shrivel and die, and that's just a truth to deal with. I'd say pro-palestinian sentiments are compounded by the influx of Arab immigrants. We're talking democracies after all; if more citizens are pro-palestinian, then the elected officials will cater to that group. Last thing is that they're the underdogs. Israel is obviously the stronger party, and the West loves nothing more than an underdog. Of course I can't fail to mention the economic benefit of befriending the oil rich countries.
