It seems like every ones wants you to see someone, don't they? Why don't you start with your doctor first. Let him make the diagnosis and then, he can send you to the appropriate place.
I'm sure he's going to want to take X-Rays, which will be read by a radiologist and given a diagnosis at which time, you will be sent to either therapy or an orthopedic surgeon.
Then the orthopedic surgeon will send you for MRI's or CAT's to make a decision.

It's your back, you want the best of care, you can go for massages and alleviate the problem temporary, I know some people that have suffered all their life going for these massages, only for temporary results.
If this is what you want, go for it. If you want permanent relief go see your doctor.

The sciatic nerve originates in your back and goes down your buttocks. this is one of the biggest nerves in your body and it is difficult to reduce the pain. I recommend you get deep tissue massage therapy as it will relax the muscles and cause less strain on that nerve. I find enormous relief from sciatic pain with deep tissue massage.

My other suggestion would be to see a chiropractor as they are specialists in this type of problem. I've enclosed to link were you can find a chiropractor in your area.

the sciatic nerve is actually made up of the nerve branches of the last two lumbar nerves and all sacral nerves. It passes under and sometimes through the gluteal musculature down the back of the leg to the foot. If you have the pain you have to find out what is hitting it and where. It could be muscle, bone, or even swelling. I would see a chiropractor, he will quickly figure out the cause and fix it.
