The formula to loose 1 lb is to reduce what you eat by 500 calories per day. 1 lb = 3500 calories.

This is assuming you don't overeat now on a steady bases. Sounds like you do not.

Contrary to what infomercials say you cannot target a specific spot to lose fat. You can, however, target these places to tone the existing muscle. These muscle groups are stabilizers, meaning we use them all day long just to walk upright. An aerobic activity that forces you to constantly test your balance, such as tennis or aerobics, will help.

As far as dieting, each person is different, and without knowing your particulars I have no idea what your caloric needs are but since you say you exercise a lot I would guess that it's pretty high.

The best advice I can give is to get lots of aerobic exercise, while eating a healthy balanced diet. Fruits and veggies and grains are excellent sources of fiber and will assist weight loss while ensuring you're still getting your vitamins and minerals. Drinking lots of water will help too, especially if you currently consume a lot of empty calories in soft drinks and so-called sports drinks.

Good luck, hope this helps.
