They are actually pretty easy to overcome if you are willing to practice some behavioral modifications, and if the underlying cause is not from a chemical imbalance. This web site has an excellent self-help approach that works well for many people. If you are unable to overcome the problem on your own, it might be worthwhile to talk to your regular doctor and see what they recommend. In a large number of people, panic attacks are actually a indirect effect of having low-level depression, and if you are one of those people, antidepressants or cognitive therapy may be necessary.

Ah,

I suddenly had this last year it was a combination of a lot.
First off my last born went to first grade and she had a hard time adjusting - my dad almost died suddenly I hated my part time job (loved the job hated the boss) I couldn't sleep felt like My heart/chest would cave in - so I went to see my MD.
He gave me something to take instantly (melted in my mouth) and Zoloft - I was on it about 10 months.
I also took Yoga and quit my job - which helped me a lot.
So look at your life and do something for yourself once a day for a few moments that makes you happy!
Talk to your MD mine was very supportive -
