fatherhood, do you first ask him, "What do you think of being a father?" or do you just spring it on him, provided you're planning to have the child?
If he says no, he's not ready to be a father, did you take that as a rejection of you and cut off all contact with him?

I ask this because I received another case of a father being hit with retroactive child support for a child he did not know existed. The last time he saw the girl was in college. One day she suddenly quit school and moved back home to her parents, refusing to talk to him there after. That was ten years ago and looking back, the last thing she said to him was the question, "What do you think about becoming a father?" He said he was too young and not about to consider it for some years.
Well, guess what? He already was, but she waited ten years to tell him, along with an order for ten years of retroactive child support.
