The lack of knowledge of things tends to scare people. When people try to understand something that is different from the beliefs that they where raised with this may lead to fear. It is true many people spread false information about Islam. I feel this is due to the difficulty in translating the Quran. There is only One Quran but many translations each saying not quite the same thing. It is all of our responsibility to make sure that what ever information we receive and give is as accurate as possible.

Nothing about Islam and Muslims scares me. The scary part is the terrorism some of the commit in the name of God.
This posture is secondary to a perverted theology and attempts to strike anyone anywhere is reason to be scared.
However, Islam and Muslims are not and should not be cause for fright.
Some of the finest people on the face of this Earth are adherents to Islam and there are Baptist terrorists and those of other religions as well.
Anytime we try to put a face and profile too many are unfairly singled out.

My theory is that it's the fear of the unknown coupled with the child-like desire to "fit in," in this case to fit in with those that always have something bad to say about Islam -- Islamophobes, many religious leaders such as Pat Robertson, troublemakers and others that thrive on attention. It's so silly the extent that some will go to. We even have alot of people pretending to be ex Muslims for the sake of stirring trouble or a futile attempt to convert us, lol.
There are some genuinely scared people who don't know much about Islam and given all the media attention that every Muslim troublemaker recieves, I can't really blame them for having bad thoughts about us and our religion. However those that insist on making up stories and spreading the lies that they hear are childish, and as an adult, the proper thing to do would be to at least pick up a book and read. Heck, these days all we need is a click of a button, it's so easy.
Unfortunately for them I've noticed within the past few years that their numbers are shrinking. People are either getting curious about what we really believe and do, or they hear something about Muslims that is completely opposite of what they are taught to believe and it gets their gears grinding. Or maybe even they meet a Muslim and see the huge difference in that perception and our reality. People aren't as gullible as some would like to believe and although there will always be that group that hates us even though they have no reason (eg the way the KKK hates black people), their numbers are shrinking.

It isn't Islam that scares people, it's the Western media.
Although, I can tell you that I'm personally not scared of Islam, I'm scared of a lot of Muslims. I'm scared of the Muslims who hope for an Islamic state imposed on the world. I'm scared of Muslims who don't know the difference between their culture and their religion. I'm scared of Muslims who can't speak Arabic. I'm scared of Muslims who proselytize (since it's forbidden - and let me tell you, they do it even on YA!)
So while Islam is not scary, a lot of Muslims certainly are (and a lot are not - let me be clear - I live in a Muslim country, have a Muslim husband who feels the same way that I do on this, and all of my close friends are Muslim)

Islam is truth. Despite all the lies told in the media and elsewhere Islam grows day by day. It is the fastest growing relgion in the world. There are somany reason people get scared. First is the wrong understanding about it. Then the media who exagerate the actions of few who commit crimes in its name and voice of other millions of its peaceful followers unheared. Then externally one may see it as against their freedom.
Muslims are to blame for much. Just see how many get up from their sleep to attend the dawn prayer to praise their Lord and sincere to Allah in their actions. God willing everything oneday will come to a good end.

1. A Muslim will give his allegiance to another Muslim and Islam before any country or infidel.
2. The goal of Islam is to control the world. If that happens the world will sink back into barbarism as, like Xians, Islam doesn't like Knowledge, Logic or Reason ... let alone the freedom to think for oneself; there is no freedom; everything is governed by Sharia Law.
3. As psychopathic and insane as Bible is, it has one softening part - Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. There is no such equivalent in Qur'Än. It is hateful to ALL infidels and NO infidel deserves mercy or even the right to live.
Why is it so hard for Muslim to become a Christian or join with another religion? Mohammed said, “Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him.” (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57) This command is practiced in almost all Islamic Fundamentalist countries today.
48:13 And if any believe not in Allah and His Messenger, We have prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire!
2:191, And slay them wherever ye catch them

The fact that they make no bones that their will is to make the entire world Muslim? And they are willing to die makes them a quite dangerous opponent, more so than the Christians, who want to put it in schools, but don't have the gumption to fight for anything. Combine that with the people who talk about how "peaceful" Islam is,when the "peaceful" Islamists do nothing to stop those who they say are "not true Islam",they are in reality giving consent to them. Throw in the BS PC that we must "respect" other faiths instead of just calling a spade a spade. Refute me if you can

People who are guilty and ignorant are the people that feel scared of Islam. To gain support from others, they spread lies to tarnish the image of Islam and instigate others to hate Islam and the Muslims. However, Allah S.W.T. is great and protect Islam and the Muslims.

I am not afraid of Islam one bit, & I am a Christian,. In Zephaniah Chapter 2, It says that God will famish all the gods of the earth, verse11, But read the whole chapter just for beginners, It speaks of how God will scatter all those arabs from Israel.
