Oh my god why did you even waste your time in answering this question if you were going to give me your opinion which i didnt ask for?!

Its not mutilation its modification, People have been piercing themselves for hundreds of years. Its not just about how a piercing looks its the whole process of getting it done, so before you answer this qeustion - I WANT A SERIOUS ANSWER, NOT YOUR OPINION, OK?

Avoid alcohol for at least a few days. Don't use mouthwash as aftercare, as it kills both the bad bacteria and the good bacteria in your mouth and can lead to a thrush (yeast) infection (especially if you drink beer). Try to avoid colas, orange juice and striaght liquor for at least 2 weeks, all will irriate a fresh piercing. Remember you must avoid all oral contact with others for at least 10 weeks.

To avoid chipping your teeth, make sure you get the bar downsized by your piercer after 2 weeks. You can get acrylic beads for the barbell (just the beads, not the whole thing) which will help a bit. Venoms will be more likely to chip teeth, because they're more to the side of your tongue and more likely to be bitten or come in contact with your teeth.

Hi ... you shouldn't drink alcohol until your done healing which the one link says 10-14 days and the other says could take anywhere between 6 to 8 weeks I guess it depends how quick you tend ta heal babe. I healed up in about two weeks but you shouldn't drink coffee or smoke during that time either! yikes! so go to the links and check'em out .. but the most important thing would be find a person that is qualified to do them and talk with them and ask plenty of questions ok? good luck!

Why in the world would anyone be stupid enough to get their tongue pierced. It is very unattractive, not in the least sexy. Makes you talk with a lisp.
Might as well get drunk now. No one will want you now any way!

That's just plain nuts... sorry, I'm not into body mutilation. I even have a problem with doctors cutting people up unnecessarily. It's just plain stupid.
