i have a focus 1.6 i no its not the same model but my child lock is.
open the back door where the door lock is there should be a white circle above it you can put a straight head screwdriver in it and turn or you can use your key thats what i used..
hope this helps.....
i found with the focus handles there is alot of play before the door opens so meaning the child would have to be strong before they could get it open fully but better safe than sorry
goodluck

Not sure about the Zetec, but a lot of cars have a small button/catch on the shell of the door itself, usually next to the door lock.

I should think its the same as mine. Open the door and look on the door for a small key sized hole which is between the jaws of the door catch. Put your car key into the hole and turn, this puts the child lock on or off.

Open the rear door, where the door catch mechanism is on the side of the door, you should see a small rocker switch, this is used to disable use of the interior door handle so it can only be opened from the outside.

Open the door and look at the catch down the side of the door.(where the workings of the lock are) There is a small metal bar that you can move up and down. Flick it down and that the child lock on.

hi there, open the rear door, if you look at the actaul locking mechanism on the side of the inner door, you should see a little lever (its not very noticeable if you dont know what your looking for) push it in the opposite direction to its current possition, and there you have it, your safty locks in place, hope this helps,

On our Mondeo, it is on the edge of the door. So you have the inside and the outside and then the edge, where it shuts. It has a metal switch and you just move it across, and the door will no longer open from the inside.

On this vehicle it is going to be a small, black rubber covered tab. Simply slide this tab the only other direction it can go, and viola! The doors are now only openable from the outside.
