Actually the Awake was quoting 'Look' magazine

And the reference was mainly the King James Bible.

So according the research done by 'Look' there are 50,000 errors in the King James Bible.

By the way, are you try to slam the bible or the Awake?

Awake Magazine

This questioner seems intent on dishonestly quoting from the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses. It was not Awake! magazine that made that statement; but instead that issue of Awake! reasoned to refute the idea!

From the same era (about 50 years ago), here is a related quote on the same matter from Awake!'s companion magazine, The Watchtower (May 1, 1953, page 262; article “Keeping a Tight Grip on the Word of Life”):

[begin quote]
Popular magazines loosen the grip of many on the Word of life. Look [magazine], February 26, 1952, tried to appear sensational by apparently suddenly discovering the Bible was filled with errors. It called attention to about half a dozen spurious passages, such as Mark 16:9-20, John 8:1-11 and 1 John 5:7. After citing these few big errors Look glibly states that Bible scholars agree that there are from 20,000 to 50,000 errors in the Bible. Does not this leave the impression that these thousands of errors are serious ones, like those mentioned, and hence that the Bible is wholly unreliable? Actually, serious errors are remarkably few, and years ago they were ferreted out and eliminated in modern translations. Scholars recognize how remarkably accurate has been the preservation of the Scriptures. In a mercenary endeavor to be sensational Look misrepresented the Bible, subtly discrediting it. The secular press in general leaps to the opportunity to shake confidence in the Bible.
[end quote]

Regarding the Scripture mentioned in the question, readers are reminded that this verse is expressed from the point of view of a human observer who feels God moves too slowly. Of course, Jehovah God does not conform to human ideas of timeliness.

(Psalm 78:65) Then Jehovah began to awake as from sleeping, Like a mighty one sobering up from wine.

(Psalm 44:23-24) Do arouse yourself. Why do you keep sleeping, O Jehovah? Do awake. Do not keep casting off forever. 24 Why do you keep your very face concealed? Why do you forget our affliction and our oppression?

(Isaiah 42:13) Like a mighty man Jehovah himself will go forth. Like a warrior he will awaken zeal.

(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

(Romans 2:4) Do you despise the riches of [God's] kindness and forbearance and long-suffering, because you do not know that the kindly quality of God is trying to lead you to repentance?

There are discrepancies in the KJV.

Num 23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

Job 39:9 Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

Act 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put [him] in prison, and delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

However all bibles are from the same source and are to be used:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

All these articles are saying the Bible has errors because they are comparing it to the JW's bible. You can do the exact reverse and say there are 50000 errors in the JW's bible when you are comparing it to the Bible.

Just read on your last link. The whole thing is about new translations not having the exact word "begotten" in them. They say that the Bible is corrupted because it calls Jesus the only son of God. The only way you would see this as corrupted is if you don't believe in it.

The Awake was quoting someone else as saying that so the questioner is dishonest as are all others who are critical of Jehovah's Witnesses.
