My cat has been missing for about 5 days and she finaly showed up tonight with a cut on her rear and dislocated leg. I called the emergency vet and they told me to hold off until tomorrow morning to bring her in.. I was just wondering if anyone has treated their cat for a dislocated leg and how much their vet bill was.

It's really going to depend on the extent of her injuries. She will almost certainly need to have x-rays done, to determine a/ whether the joint is dislocated (I'm assuming you mean her hip?), b/ what direction the dislocation is in, and c/ whether or not there are any broken bones as well. This would usually be done under a light general anaesthetic and depending on the vet, it's likely to cost you at least AU$200-$300. You will also likely be looking at surgery for her as well, which again, depending on the vet, will probably be the same (or more) again.

If those sorts of costs are an issue, ask your vet about lower cost veterinary care elsewhere (e.g. some large animal shelters).

If she's not overly distressed, you should be okay with not taking her in until the morning, but keep a close eye on her. Also, have a look at the tips of her claws for any tears or scuffing- your description of the injuries that you can see makes me wonder if she has been hit by a car, in which case she may also have other injuries that you can't see.

Hope that's of some help, and hope that she is on the mend again soon.

this depends on where you live and teh vet.
there is a possability that it's broken and not dislocated.
Don't try to do it yourself because you can do even more damage if you should pick a nerve inbetween teh joint.Just getit to the vets first thing in the morning.
Good lucck and if you are having money problems most vets will work with you
