For the purpose of getting into shape? No, it's never too late for that. As for fighting as an Amateur however, unless you have a baby face and can pass off as a teen ager and lie about your age, then I'd say it's a bit late, but it is still possible for you to turn pro though, but you need to be pretty good to make any headway starting at that age.

Yes its possible!! The only thing stopping you is yourself. Because its a long road to go and you may want to give up at times. 26 is still young enough. I know a mean old drill Sergeant who can still box at 50. He is still knocking the socks off young guys in the ring.

Try taking some boxing lessons and get the instructor to advise you. I suspect that you could probably improve your skills but I doubt that you could "go anywhere" with it as you would be BEHIND the ones who began to work on their skills and experience when they were 5-to-10 years younger than you are. In the Air Force there is a concept called being "behind the power curve" and it seems to fit your situation fairly well.

It is never too late to learn and to fight a couple of amateur fights is not far from reality. Go to your local gym and get started; it is a great way to lose weight and at the same time release your bad energy by boxing. I hope you have a great time!

If your goal is purely fitness and getting in good shape then you aren't old. People in their 50's and 60's take up boxing for fitness purposes. That can't be said, however, if you intend to compete (even in amateur fights) in boxing tournaments. In that case, you should've started during your teens.

You are never to old to learn! Any martial art including boxing is a great workout & should be started slowly but you can increase your intensity as you gain experience! If you plan to start tournament fighting, work on your cardio & bag work.

Why would you think that is too old? Start by getting a physical and find someone to help you train.
Good luck
