Stop trying to convert us! Can't you see we don't want to be converted! We are happy in our beautiful world where all ideas are judged fairly and excepted, where people do not need to be hated for who they are and where people do not need to be judged as sinful for normal human instincts. Can't you see half the reason we look at you so disdainfully is because you keep trying to convert us?

Dear aksalas47,
There are most certainly verses that are used to explain certain aspects that are important for us to know to have a full understanding of what it means to have a relationship with God.
As a pastor i've heard many many stories about how people have come to know God and am reminded that God not uses the Scriptures but he brings the right Scripture that fits and He brings it at the right time.
I'm greatly encouraged by your desire to learn more, because the Bible does teach that man is not naturally drawn to know God, and so i believe God is drawing you near to know Him. Maybe you'd like to share a little bit more about where you are, what you currently believe, and just why the curiosity and i'd be more than happy to share Scripture and suggest some books that might be helpful to allow you to make an informed decision about Christ.
Also i can suggest some good websites where you can hear some good solid Bible teachers, explain some of these verses and maybe that can help you as well.
Kindly,
Nickster

The Bible On a whole is good for conversion but no one can can get you to convert if you are not willing to.It is only your belief and the convincing of the holy spirit. When you read the bible ask for divine revelation, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. We are not to waste time as Christians trying to force anyone to believe something that they are not willing to believe. Our responsibility is to give you the word and to give you all the tools possible that leads you on the path to Christ and your salvation. And we as believers should try to live an exemplary life that says we are not only preaching it but we are living it and that also can turn someone around.

If you want to know more try reading the words that Jesus spoke in the n.t. If you feel that God has a special message for you there He will make it clear to you. Be prepared for anything. When the words come from The Spirit of truth they have power to transform and you will feel this power in every fiber of your being. Can you feel the transforming power in the following words: no matter what you say or do it will never change the way I feel about you? Did you feel the power to be brave and independent? The power to confront your past rather than running away from it? I hope that is what you are looking for.

If God isn't leading a person to Him, then all the verses in the Bible wouldn't be sufficient. That's what He does to each person who He chooses. He does the choosing. What we Christians need to do is become close to God, so that we can discern what His will is. That's the most important thing about being a Christian.
So there are all sorts of verses that pertain to Jesus, faith, and the selection of God. None of them are any good unless the person being witnessed to wants to know God in the first place.
So I'll make that my answer, any Christian cannot 'make' anyone else a Christian. God does that because of what He can do with the hearts of certain people. So if you WANT to know God, that is PROOF that He is leading you to Him. You might not read that often, but that's because many Christians do not realize it.

I do not understand why anyone would be converted by verses from a book that you can only accept as anything other than fiction until you have been converted.
You might as well try to convert someone with words from a fairy tale to belief in fairies. Its just a tale until you believe - then the words mean something more (though you would be thought mad by then).

i am a christian.
i would have to agree with the guy that said its meaningless to use the bible to convert anyone when to the nonbeliever the book is fictional.
it may be better to first try to convince the person that our lives are too deep to be just a coincidence of the universe. i mean how can the first atom be created from nothing.

"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no
compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15,16).
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5).
i suppose those verses may not cause someone to convert, but, for me they speak volumes. when i need to remember i matter, and that bad times pass and joy will come into my life again, i recall verses such as these. they tell me God loves me. i know there are many more, and you asked for 10, but hopefully with help of others you can find the 10 that best speak to your own heart.

well those ten verses have been pounded into my head since i was a child and thats part of the reason i disdain christianity. the bible is so big yet we are told the same crap over and over. people are too scared to read the rest of the bible because its not the message they are used to hearing.

Hello Aksalas.
In my opinion, I don't believe that there may be any verse or verses to convert a non Christian.
John 19:11 reads, YhShWh (Jesus) answered, "Thov couldest have no povver at all against Me, except it vvere given thee from above..."
vvhich indicates no one has povver vnless it has bene given to them.
VVe are all ONE!
Romans 12:4-5 reads, For as vve have many members in One body, and all members have not the same office: So vve, being many, are One body in Christ, and every One members one of another.
I Corinthians 12:13-4 reads, For by One Spirit are vve all baptized into One body, vvhether vve be Ievvs or Gentiles, vvhether vve be bonk or free; and have bene all made to drink into One Spirit. For the body is not one member, bvt many.
Researchers say Israel comes from the 3 main g_ds of the Hebrevvs novv the Ievvs (Jews). Is for Egyptian Isis, Ra from Egyptian AMEN-Ra and El from Eli/Eloah from the Cainanites.
If this is true, lets read Mark 12:29:
And YhShVVh ansvvered him, "The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord ovr G_d is one Lord."
Thvs making ONE G_d for ALL people.
Israel, Is-Ra-El, being the SEEKERS of G_d. Iacob got his name Israel from SEEKING G_d, for it is vvritten that he asked for His name (Genesis 32:29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there).
And vve read Galatians 3:8:
And the scripture, foreseeing that G_d vvould ivstify (justify) the heathen throvgh faith, preached before the gospel vnto Abraham, saying, "In thee shall all nations be blessed."
I Timothy 4:10 reads, For therefore vve both labovr and suffer reproach, becavse vve trvst in the living G_d, vvho is the Saviovr of all men, specially of those that believe.
Ephesians 4:6 reads, One G_d and Father of all, vvho is above all, and throvgh all, and in yov all.
All in all, there is only ONE G_d for ALL people, and the Christ is the Spirit of G_d. No religion necessary, iust seeking and praising G_d the Father.
Believe for yovr ovvn salvation.
Take care and G_d bless.
