I have been so distracted with my new lover that I have only been praying like once a week. I tried to get my twin brother to pray with me but he would rather we wrestle. How many times should a person pray in a day? Is once enough?

Once is more then enough, but you know you don't have to pray out loud in order to have God hear you. I pray in my head, A LOT. We get busy. In fact i can't tell you how many nights i fell asleep saying the rosary in my head while my brother was in Iraq. Sometimes with the rosary, some times without.
If you are questioning yourself on whether or not you need to pray more. Just say a little one in your head. Don't worry, he's listening, no matter what.
That's a little secret from my grandmother and my mother.
I was told this when i was young. I thought that they did it cuz they were ashamed to have ppl hear them pray. They said that wasn't the case at all. Its just sometimes, you just have the need to say a little prayer, so they did it. And you know, sometimes its not always appropriate to say a prayer out loud. Depending on where you are at.
Hope this helps.
God Bless.
Good luck with your new lover

I think you should pray every time you are thankful. It doesn't have to be much -- just a quick "Thank You!"

It's good to pray or meditate for 10 minutes a day, maybe first thing in the morning to start your day out right, or 10 minutes at night to wind down. Whatever feels good. I don't think there are any rules about it.

I'm sure He wouldn't mind if you prayed while you were wrestling (-:. Best prayer wins God's Favor and the Match!

Praying is not your duty. God doesn't want you to feel obliged to put in your quota. The reason God created prayer is for communication with him - like just talking with a friend. God wants YOU to draw close to him - and your relationship with him will benefit. Don't feel guilty about not making time for him. He loves you whether or not you've done your 5 minutes that day. Try telling him about the things that are bothering you or making you happy, reading the bible also really helps with getting to know him.
Trust me, I know how hard it is to pray frequently. Some of the time it doesn't even need to be in a formal situation. If something major has happened, you don't have to wait to get home and get down on your knees and pray. You don't need to talk aloud, just offer up a thought: "Lord, I pray for that woman. She looked really worn down and sick. Please look after her. Amen."

Praying is a way to keep in touch with God. The first thing a man must do in any kind of situation, be it good or bad, is to pray. God does not dictate how many times a person must pray. Because God does not need our prayers. But people need prayers to enlighten them up. So It is up to that person how many times one must pray. But even if you are not praying, always keep in touch with God by thinking of Him and making Him first in your life.

You sound VERY naive. In fact, you choose the creation over the CREATOR....so what is the point answering a question that probably (MOST LIKELY) is just ANOTHER insult to Christians....

BTW......the BIBLE SAYS "Pray without ceasing"......
READ the KJV HOLY BIBLE and find the answers concerning prayer on your own, don't try to get spoon fed the vital truths that are only found, and really MOST REWARDING, when you study the Word of ELOHIM for and by YOURSELF.

Pray by yourself, alone! God already knows your needs but WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR HIM? (he would want you to learn his word in a church and go out into the world and preach the gosipel) Is it always me, me, me. Why should he answer anybodies prayer, if all you think is yourself, unless the prayer is to ask him, you need his help. God hates when people pray that they want materialistic things or a job. get the ball rolling and fellowship with him www.mylordmysavior.com

Firstly you decide your aim of the prayer. There is no limited or specified time for prayer. You can pray almighty anytime. But you can get maximum result when you pray early morning hours, i.e., between 3.00 am to 6.00 am and 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm.

While praying don't seek for small demands with almighty. Seek for the maximum and high valued things. Don't seek worldly things with the almighty.

One has to seek valuable things which is not easily or commonly available in the nature. (For instance you can not ask for a kilogram of Potato with a President of a nation. Because your purpose will not serve and it will become funny)

Pray almighty for salvation !!!

Thy God bless you.

According to the Bible, it says to pray without ceasing. Just even when your walking down the street you could be praying to yourself. Just asking for God's hand on you for example. 1 Timothy 5:17
