find some neutral territory for them to get to know each other. (set up a tent in the back yard for example) other than that it is a matter of time

Put your cat in a cat carrier. Put the carrier in an area where your friends cat goes a lot. Do this for about 10-15 mins. Then let the cat out. Do that a couple times a day, for a few days. Then let your friend hold his cat, and you hold your cat, and let them sniff each other. After a few times doing that, let them get to know each other by putting them on the floor, and see what they do.

Remember to start off slow. Hope this helps.

I know when my family first adopted a 2 year old cat from the SPCA, it took him 2 weeks to come out of hiding. He would only come out to eat and use the cat box when we were asleep. Eventually he adjusted and now he is our most relaxed cat.

At the vet's office where I work, there is also a product called a diffuser. We sell the Feliway Diffuser. It is supposed to use pheromones to ease tension in cats. It is a little plug in thing but it only works in one room. You might have to buy one for the attic (if it has an outlet) and one for a main room in the house.

Good luck!

I have 3 females so Ive gone through this twice.Your gonna have to make it so your cat cant get into the attic, they have to get used to each other or your cat will continue to behave that way. If you have to, put them in a room together.

well if you are staying at your friends house for ever then have no worries because they will automaticly get along . when i got my first cat he was on his own when i got my secound cat a few months after .at first they hated each other but for some time they got use to each other after a couple of days .soon they started sleeping with each other now they have mated and my female cat is pregnant.

gradually it will come out of the attic (i have the same problem with my elder cat when i take it to the country side). u just have to let her get used to it. however, i can't guarantee that the two cats would get along. i have two cats too, mother and daughter, and the mother isn't too thrilled about the daughter's presence....it all depends on the cat...but if they do fight, don't separate them with your bare hands cause it will turn ugly...
