I used to really like this guy and he seemed to like me as well. We were hanging out with each other a lot. However, he was somehow staying with reserves and so was I. Once he asked me if I can kiss him and the next time when we were at the park he asked me if he could kiss me. I do not understand. He knew that I liked him. Why did not he make things happen but kept asking which turned me off and made him suspecious.

Maybe he really didn't know if you liked him; that it was safe to have him kiss you. Maybe you didn't send out the signals right. Very real possibility here.

Sounds here like there's this guy who really REALLY likes you, but also sees you can very likely b-slap him into next week.....and probably has full right to be cautious NOT to find out that very fact.

So he's likely the wise one to ask if he could kiss you. And that turns you OFF??? What's wrong w/ you making wishes come true??? Trust me: women don't go to jail for making things happen sweet n' nice with their men (or women).

He just didn't want to mess up anything. He didn't want to take the risk of kissing you and you never talking to him again. You should try moving in on him for a kiss when the time is right.

It's better to ask than to be sorry later! He probably didnt want to offend you, which is the gentlemanly way to go about it. In time you'll be able to understand each others feelings and be more relaxed about the whole thing! Cheers

He might have known that you liked him, but he still probably has doubts just because that's how people are. You was asking permission so he wouldn't have to deal with getting rejected while in the act.

He's being a gentleman when he asks if he could kiss you. That way, he won't feel like he's pushing himself on someone who doesn't want him to kiss her. He's also protecting himself so that you wouldn't feel like he is sexually harrassing someone who could call the police on him.

He was trying to be respectful. That is a plus in a guy. Why would you be turned off, if he is nice enough not to take privileges. He sees you as a nice girl.

maybe u should tell him baby, "it ok for you to kissme , you dont even have to ask cause baby, I love you!"
From what i could see, is that he think u are reserve and he is respecting u. (probably doesnt want to get his butt slap)

Or

u could kiss him without asking, hint hint for him, next time.

Just tell him, if he does it again, that he doesn't have to ask! He should take the hint and realize that you like him and want to kiss.
He probably was unsure of your feelings and didn't want to go too fast with you.

They just want to be respectful. Some people don't kiss on first dates.
