Oh God, how many times have I been through that..

If he's an axxhole, he isn't worth telling anything too. Find someone who isn't a jerk that will listen..(It'll be hard. Today's men....well.....its kind of scary.) And any man who is reading this right now and is thinking, "Not all men are axxholes!" Well good for you, because almost every man I've met was one.

If you really think he (or men in general) are worth the effort get hold of a copy of "You just don't understand:Women and Men in Conversation" by Deborah Tannen.
It's not a book for you: it's for men and women, So he'd have to read it too. It could give you very good grounds for conversation: I've known it to be eye-opening, to both sides.

The situation you've sketched comes up several times.
He might be an insensitive jerk, who only wants " a relationship" on his terms.and is incapable of thinking any other way. Oh yes, they are not in short supply.

Or he could really like you, and your outpouring could have left him feeling helpless and speechless and uncomfortable.
Why? Because men tend to see problems as a challenge to be solved. Revealing feelings isn't establishing a connection, or an emotional release. It's likely to be taken as a *demand for help* in an area he feels unqualified to deliver.
Ask him to put up some shelves... He's much likely to be happier, if he cares for you. That's something he can do for you.

But if he's capable of reading a book and is interested enough to do so...
Well, yes we mere males can learn stuff too.
To repeat. *It's not a girly book* it shows how both sides think, and why they are so often at cross-purposes.

Men and women are emotionally and physically different. men don't hear what a woman is saying--especially when emotions and troubles are the topic. You pour your heart out and he hears the sound of BLAH BLAH BLAH !!! Next time choose a guy that seems to care--or keep it to yourself. Did you do this all to see how he would react--did you pick a bad time to do it??? hey---you know him better than anyone else.

It's the nature of man. Mostly.
Move on. They are simply not emotional creatures like us, it's passed them by. Their world is one of fact and calculated risks, nothing more.

He is either not really interested in you (but only in something you can give him), or he does not have the maturity to feel empathy or sympathy with other people.
In both cases, he is bad news.
