The pearl. Produced when a grain of sand gets lodged in the soft inner folds of the oyster. This oyster laying there on the seabed. Each time the current moves it.. there is this irritating that causes the oyster to produce a " life juice" to coat this grain of sand within it. Over time.. more movement.. more coating takes place.. forming a pearl within this oyster.
To think.. this thing ..this grain of sand is transformed into a pearl of value within the oyster.. so what over time was a hardship turns out to be this oyster's very value.
This is a picture of the Christian life. Of the trials and hardship we undergo. Will they be wasted or will something of Christ be formed in us. Can some share of their experiences of this? Thanks ;))

Talk about casting pearls to swine...
This question was not meant for all of you who have no realization of it. Do youself a favour next time and simply NOT COMMENT.
You show your ignorance and how thick the darkness is in your being.
Nuff:) thank YOu for your dear answer. May the Lord Supply you richly with all the grace that you need to go through each day.

That's a beautiful analogy and I'm disgusted with everyone who is making snide comments.
I've had many hardships that have helped me to grow. I have an illness and when I see others with a similar illness, I have more compassion.

The oyster's value??
What value is it to the oyster? Not a damn thing, since the Christian comes along, scoops out the pearl, and eats the oyster for dinner in some fancy schmancy restaurant trying to impress his new Christian lady friend hoping he will get to 1st base.
The oyster got screwed.
So all that "hardship" your induring in your young priviledged life will turn in to a pearl, right????
Some kind of pay off is what your hoping for.....
just bend down and take more suffering. You have a lifetimes worth!!!
