ok...

walking from ESB to Rockafella Center could take a tourist probably 30 minutes to walk (10 minutes for a new yorker). You basically have to walk uptown a few blocks and over an avenue. won't take too long and if you get lost, just look up, they are the two tallest buildings in that area (midtown).

The unlimited fun-pass is good for 24hrs. from the time it is purchased(each card is encoded to disable exactly after 24hrs). These are good if you are in the city for roughly a day, but if longer, i would get the weekly card to save some money.

As far as the Statue of Liberty, its a huge tourist attraction and the lines for the ferry to see it can be long, especially on weekends. The Staten Island Ferry is still free and does provide a good view of both the Statue as well as Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Heights. If you have a decent camera with a strong zoom on it, you can get good shots of all these sites.

Ellis Island is in the harbor, im not too sure on how to get there, i mean obviously a ferry, but i dont know the schedules.

All this information is availible online, just do a search for specifics. Just remember, tourists love weekends so tourist attractions will be busy during these days.

Enjoy New York

It's about a 3/4 of a mile from the Empire State Building to Rockefeller Center. ESB is on 34th Street and 5th Ave, Rock Center is 48th Street and 5th. You just walk straight up 5th Ave; it'll take you 15-20 minutes.

The ferry that goes to Liberty Island also stops at Ellis Island. There's a museum of immigration at Ellis Island, which is worth it if it interests you. On a Sunday you're in for a long wait in line, and there's a security check before you get on the ferry that slows down the line, so if you go, I'd go early in the day.

The Staten Island ferry is free. (Both the Liberty Island Ferry and the Staten Island Ferry leave from Battery Park, but have different terminals.) The view is great. Ferries leave every half hour, the round trip takes about an hour.

Rockefeller Center in the 50 and Empire State building on 34th Street This is a nice walk under 30 minutes.
Sunday at the Statue of Island count on 1/2 day.
The ferry there will also allow you to go to Ellis Island.
And the Staten Island Ferry is free and do it, it is a good free ride.

Empire State Building to Rockefeler Center = 20 minutes or so.

1 day metro card, not sure. I buy them all the time and often feel I was getting screwed. Not sure of the rules. I have bought them at noon and couldn't use them at 9Am the next day.
