It does'nt matter what you buy. You have one life to make yourself happy. Do you want to spend it with grace and meaning in the Lord's glory or do you just want to think we know everything?

What is hell !? It is a place that is not in existence yet. But it will be after the White Throne judgment. You see when we die those who believe in Christ will be on one side of a gulf and the nonbelievers will be on the other . And after God's judgment , those on the wrong side will be turned to ashes from within and be no more. So you might liken hell as a grave. It is more of a result than a place.

If you search for the original translation of "hell" in the Hebrew and Greek languages, they mean "Sheol", "Hades", "grave" and the "ground". Therefore, "Hell" actually means "the common grave of mankind", which also means, all of us, when we die , we go to hell. That is why God gave us the resurrection hope through Jesus, where we could enjoy everlasting life on paradise earth when God has put an end to evil and wickedness.

As for the second death described in Revelation, the lake of fire and sulfur, it is reserved for Satan, his demons and all those who chose to follow him even after God has given a second chance in the resurrection.

Blame a man called Dante, who wrote Dante's infernal about the year of 3 hundred and something. Archeologist's have uncovered the catacombs (graves) of early Christians who were martyred during the persecutions of the very early church. It's very interesting that some of the etchings on the tombs were of Jesus surrounded by sheep, and carrying a goat.

As Pope John Paul II clarified, hell is permanent separation from God. If you knowingly and persistently reject God, if you demand separation from him throughout your whole life, it will happen. God does not create such a condition, we do. You can stamp your feet and complain that it is not fair all you want. Know that Christ holds his hand out to you, offering you His perfect love. Choose Him while you can. All He asks in return is that we love Him and each other. It is a mystery to me why anybody would hesitate to do this.

Yes, it was the Christian church which invented the idea of Hell as an opposite to Heaven, just as they invented Satan as an opposite of God, which was invented by the Hebrews. They were probably originally the Egyptian followers of Aton, the one god, and were thrown out because of it.

God made hell originally for Satan before man messed up.Now if people reject Jesus then that's the only place for them because once God makes a life He won't kill it that would be going against the laws that He has put in place(all His laws are in the bible)If you don't believe God will send people to hell then you don't know Him.You may be believing in a god that you made up to please your own desires.

Hell only came into an existence as a punishment for Satan and the fallen angels, the fact that any man goes to hell is purely based on our decision:
Do you believe that God exists and the Bible is the Word of God, holy, perfect and true concerning all things?

If you say no, then you're rejecting God, at least the God of the Bible, and calling Him a liar. He said this:
* "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
* "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
* "In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again'" (John 3:3).
* "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'" (John 14:6).
* "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame'" (Romans 10:9).
* "And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).
* "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20).

It's very easy to NOT go to hell, the fact that anyone goes to hell is because they call God a liar, excepting the lies of this world which are Satan's devices to "make himself god". That's Satan's goal. This is the sin Adam and Eve committed, not disobedience but disbelief that God was right and belief that Satan was instead! If you believe Satan your wages ARE death, you follow your god where he goes!

Mine is in Heaven because He created, so I know where I'm following Him. =) Where are you going?

With love in Christ,

lol!! love the question. christians invented a great many things, hell being one of them. that dreadful place where people burn for eternity and that nasty devil who runs it.. all created to keep followers of the world's oldest cult in line. and if god... this all powerful being... grieved over suffering, why not just take away pain and regret? hmm... there's one for the fundamentalists!!

What nonsense!!! Christians invented hell. The bottom line is money. They have to keep their members in line with their scare tactics so that they receive their 10% pay every month.(This is called the tithe.)
The same is true today as was when the bible was written. To increase membership and to line their pockets.
