i got these pills mefenamic acid 250mg and i was wondering how long are they good for? got them oct 3/05 well they still be ok to take?

Is there an expiration date on the bottle/box?

The shelf life is 3 years, so they are good until 3/2008.

You don't know how long they sat in the farmacy.
Shelf life starts when they are made, not when they are purchased.
Your best bet is to throw away any medications if you are not 100% sure of the expiration date - its better to be safe then sorry!

To ensure they are ok, the packs must still be closed and be sure that they have been stored properly and most importantly, the production and expiry date should be clear. The date you got them could not be relied on to say if they are ok or not.Maybe by the time you got them, it has expired after a few months, could possibly be just manufactured. Check if there is any date indicated in the packets or container if not it will not be a matter of guessing if it is still ok or not.
