I would say my definition of hell is living eternally praising a god who seems to need humans to actually acknowledge his greatness but is jealous of our free-will since he don't have it

Everyone goes to hell, the good and the bad. Surprised? If only people cared to do some research they would find out that the original word of "hell" in the Hebrew and Greek languages also means "Sheol", "Hades", "Grave", "A place of no activity" (Ecclesiastes 9:10). That is why God us the resurrection hope and told us that we would reside on the earth for eternity (which was His original purpose for Humans when He first created us).
As for the other "hell of fire and sulfur" mentioned in Revelation, it is a place reserved for Satan, his demons and all those who still follow him even after being a second chance in the resurrection.

Hell is the one place God chooses not to be. ALL good things come from God and because He isn't there...nothing good exisits there. No love, no joy, no hope, no peace, nothing good.
Some people think life on earth is hell. I do not. God is present on earth and He can be seen in everyact of love, goodness and kindness that happens. However, the world also has evil present, but that evil is in control only to the extent we allow it to be.
You might wonder why God would send people to Hell. I would wonder why He should welcome them into Heaven.
Why would some who has rejected God want to be in His presence for all eternity? They wouldn't not. Therefore, GOd gives them what they want....exisitence without Him. Only, they do not understand that they desire. They do not understand how God buffers us from evil.
The Bible says He causes the rain to fall on the good and the evil. God presence on Earth is like a light being turned on in a room. That light doesn't just glow on a section of the room. It glows everywhere. The goodness on God is like that. Everyone on earth (whether they believe in Him or not) benefits from God...no one in hell will.

to deathofaclown...God doesn't NEED us to praise Him. It will come naturally when you stand before the creator of the universe. God is like the grand canyon. Have you ever been there? Well, when you stand in front of that hole in the ground you can't help but start at it in amazement and awe. Evern when you're drivingf around the rim, your eyes are constantly drawn to it. You can't help yourself and that's just a hole in the ground! Imagine how it will be when we stand before the creator of that hole!! Worship and awe will happen and we won't be able to stop the gasping. Talk about shock and awe. Oh my God, I can't wait!!!

Hell is 'true death', or more accuratly the creativity associated with awareness and passage to imminent true death (because once your truely dead you cannot percieve it) - 'true death' being when your soul actually vanishes forever.
It occurs if your 'energy' which is a reflection on your lifes decisions and experiances, is below a level of love and purity where the system that is 'God' cannot support your inclusion into the realm of light.... nothing personal but your life is your chance to develop habits of love, creativity, beauty and self worth.

I don't believe in Hell, but I have a musician friend who does. He thinks its a place where all you hear is the G-chord for all eternity.

I don't believe in Hell, but people who do will tell you that it is a "lake of fire." Because that is imagery used in the book of Revelation. But there's really not sound Biblical basis for the Hell most people believe in, or the devil either.

Hell is outer darkness, the Bible says alot about it, there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, fire unquenchable, burning, doesn't sound like a good place to me. I have no intention of finding out.

The flesh of your spiritual body burns but is not consumed. Worms eat your flesh and the worms don't die, your flesh and pain is renewed. There is no sleep , no end. The smell is putrid and you never get used to it. Little devils and demons torture you and laugh at your agony. You thirst and there is no water. your tongue will cleave to your pallet. And you will never see God
