You can only get her into a clinic against her will if she is a danger to herself or others, like if she is suicidal or literally trying to kill people. Even then, once the danger subsides they will release her. The only other option is for her to decide for herself to go to a clinic. You can try to persuade her, but depending on her reaction that might make things worse. I am very sorry to hear about your situation, and I hope you have a strong support system in family or friends.

It is sad to say that they can not take her unless she is a 5150. A danger to herself or others. At which the could hold her for 72 hours and then if the doctor feels she should stay she does have the option of leaving. If she is placed on a 72 hour hold she can not leave at that time. If your mom goes on her on free will she can also leave on her own free will.
I know it sounds like it would be a relief ,but it is only for a few days. Believe me I know. I have lived with my son and his bipolar for a few years now and it can be true hell at times. He was finally placed in residential treatment in March and is 4 states away. Life has been so much better these days. Our family isn't walking on egg shells every day waiting for the next fight, explosion or outburst. It must be really hard that your brothers took off, but they may have done that to perserve their own sanity. I have also got to my breaking point with my son and have tried absolutely everything. I have even had to lock myself in the room as he just keep yelling and kicking at the door. It is okay to take a time out. It is also okay to just walk away some times. You have to keep trying. Unfortuantely this condition is life longer. It can be managed but never cured. Just try to keep your cool and defuse the problems whenever possible. That's all you can do. No one expects miracles!!!

The only way you can get your mother to become a patient is for her voluntarily commitment herself or have the courts declare her a danger to herself and/or others. If you are a minor and having problems with living with your mother, call the local child welfare department (either county or state) and ask for help.
