Spanish is easy first year, but super hard during the rest. French is a little hard first year(pronunciation) but after the first year you'll easily breeze through with little effort. Those who say spanish is easier have only taken one year, or have not tried out more than one year of french. Japanese is really hard. You have to memorize so many characters.
Usefull-wise...
It all depends where you live. If you will live near mexico, or near the southern border, spanish would be more useful in jobs and the such. Spanish isnt as useful if you dont live in US. Not that many countries speak it(yes, i know that spain does, but even there they converse in french and english just as much). If you are going to live on either coast, take Japanese. Japanese would also be useful in travel. I would highly recomend this language, and I would take it but I personally have two issues...
a)parents. I am already watching so many japanese shows, and they want me to get more into indian culture
b) time. I am in all honors classes, and dont have any time to spare. Japanese is easy if you have time
AND LASTLY(drumroll please)
French. My favorite language. This can be used in most places out of US. Except for half of south america, antartica(duh! lol),russia, and some parts of asia. It is a common language in Africa, australia, and Europe so if you want a career there take french. I am moving to Europe when I grow up, so french is mine.
So overall recommendations?
If you are going to seventh grade or below, take japanese
If you are going to eigth grade or above, take french.
If you want to struggle through the rest of highschool, take spanish. Make your life miserable with it.
EDIT: JAPANESE ECONOMY IS BOOMING. ASIANS ARE GOING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. the asian invasion is almost here. You will have many occasions to use japanese if you take it

Since it appears that quite a few Mexicans will be immigrating to the US, Spanish may be the best choice. You will find that a knowledge of Spanish is helpful when learning to speak French and Italian, as they have many of the same roots. French would be the second choice.
Japanese is a very difficult language to learn, and you are unlikely to have many occasions to use your knowledge of the language in the future, unless you plan to move to Japan, or to take a person into your home who speaks only Japanese.

Spanish or Japanese. French is lovely -- I speak it -- but the other two will be more useful to you when you go to pursue a career.

Assuming you live in the U.S., the Spanish will be most useful to you in daily life. You are unlikely to use French or Japanese regularly unless you travel to those places.

Shanghai, China is a well position. Many foreigners and an overly modernized position. You can seek for Fudan University or Jiao-Tong University wherein (I consider) such a lot foreigners research.
