As a muslim I pray at least as an obligation and daily need 5 times in 24 hours e.g (1)before dawn 2 bows(2)at noon 4 bows (3)at the beginning of afternoon 4 bows (4)at the beginning of night as sun set 3 bows and (5) at night at about 1 and half hour after sun set 4 bows. Its total is 17 bows.Optional praying is not limited and usually we do it after a compulsory praying. except in praying before dawn and at the afternoon uncompulsory praying should be done before.
We pray in a standing position directed to Kaaba in Mecca by saying at least the first surah Al Faatihah only 7 short verses in every one bow.We can follow it with other short surah optionally. At every second bow and at the end of the last bow we should say attakhiat by sitting as asking for all goodness to Allah the only one God and then at the last bow we say assalamu alaikum warahmatulllahi wabsrakatiuh that means a prayer for the safety and prosperity of all muslims by looking to the right and to the left.
We can pray anywhere as long as its place is clean such as at home,at the office,at the forest,on big stone etc.But if we do it in mosque together with other muslims we will have more values.Once a week on friday only for muslim men should pray at the mosque for praying only 2 bows at noon. Before praying we should hear the sermon of an imam or leader in praying.
Praying for muslims is a direct communication between humans to their Greatest Creator that is Allah the only one God and no ally..Praying is a way for thanking to Allah for all goodness which have been given to us and we can ask for God's forgiveness if we had wrong doings. and ask for His protection too.

I pray all the time, some times I pray in bed,you know in a humble state of mind -I pray everywhere, doing dishes, walking, in the store, riding down the road- some times I pray for others, I get alittle selfish and pray for my own home , I pray that my thoughts are clean, I pray that Gods will be done in my life,,kind of a loaded question.

I pray at least 3 or 4 times a day, that means mealtimes, night, morning, etc. I pray at night and in the morning on my knees and with my arms folded and eyes closed. well If I am eating i pray where I am going to eat, and If I am praying in the morning, or at night, I pray in my bedroom or with my family. I pray for things I need or want, & I pray for people who need help or are going through a difficult time.
hope this answers your questions.

Daily...times and circumstances vary. I often say thank you in the morning when I open my eyes...I often say a prayer of praise when I see something good happen...either to me or to someone else...I pray for forgiveness when I recognize that I have made a mis-step...I pray for others if I see they are troubled....I usually try to stay awake long enough to say thank you for all the blessings I have received this day etc. The prayer I pray most often is asking him to help me to walk in his way more effectively.

To me...prayer is simply talking to God...in normal conversation words.

iTRY to pray at all possible moments. when waking up to thank the lord for giving me another day, before going to bed, before starting a meal to thank the lord for providing us with food, after ending a meal, before entering a market, before going unto my wife, before entering/leaving toilets. a small prayer of thanks is all i do at these moments, nothing fancy. just thanking the Lord in helping us do all these little things..all these little things we cannot perform without His leave...

I don't pray, but I do meditate from time to time. There are psychological benefits.
