It is hard to answer a question like this one.
I guess it would depend on what kind of injuries you recieved. I mean you could be snuffed instantly, or you could take hours to die in slow agony.

They tell me that people who are zapped by major elictrical currents feel no pain because their nervous system is cooked by the current before it has time to send a pain signal.
I guess there would not be a lot of time for praying or anything in a case like that.

The interesting thing is that the bible does not distinguish between sins. All sins are equally bad. So if you coveted something 5 minutes before you got snuffed you are going to go to hell. I guess by the direct express route.

I am an atheist and I don't need to worry about where I am going when I die.

If you believe in Jesus, and that He was born to be the perfect sacrifice to atone for your sins. That He died on the cross for you, so that your sins would be forgiven. That when you die, you die cleansed and white as snow. Now free of sin, you can enter the Kingdom of God. So the minute you decided to live for Christ and love Him, that is the minute your future for eternity is decided, so don't worry about a freak accident and not enough time to ask for forgiveness.

at moment of such sudden death, if you become
aware of dying, you will start to ask forgiveness, right ?

assuming you are aware of dying... and are not
emotionally crazily attached to world and body,
you will look forward to next level.

some will see void, some may see Light, others will
see other yet to do , things...pending matters.

if by then you still remember to ask for forgiveness or pray,
then DO SO. always a good thing, even while living.

whether you are on your knees begging or not, may not
get you to your pearly gates destination, that would depend
on who YOU were, and what you did / many level s of karma.

does it matter, so much that your soul, which cares not,
for such things anyway, gets to heaven because your
Mind wishes so ?

remember, the soul is not made here, it is stamped with
Made in Heaven. pls think about that as you go on in life.

peace
k

Jesus only died once on the cross, therefore we are forgiven once and for all if we trully ask and accept his salvation. We are to ask forgiveness daily and ask forgiveness when we know we have sinned. We are not perfect and will never be like God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. If I died tommorrow suddenly, I know that I would go directly to heaven because I'm saved

If sometime before your freak accident you had asked Jesus to be your savior, and you were living for Him you would go directly to heaven. Even if you died committing a sin. However, if you never made that decision, you would not. When you go before God the only thing that will matter is who is standing with you. If Jesus is not standing with you, you are condemned. It is that simple.

Great question. When I was taking classes to convert to Catholicism, the priest advised us to make an anticipatory intention for forgiveness in case of that very situation.

If you believe that Christ died for your sins..then they are already forgiven. I believe that people can make the right choice at any time before they die. Kind of a cop out...but that is how I see it.
