Can I bring the straightening iron with me in the plane ??

(without documenting my bag)

I'm only bringing a small backpack.

You need to check out TSAs website it is the company that does airport security and they have a listing of all the things you can and can not carry on an airplane. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

To be 100% sure. Go to the website of your airline and check. They all have a list of things you are not allowed to bring on the plane with you.

yes, a straightening iron is fine.

just be sure any liquids or gels (eye drops, lip gloss, etc.) are 4 oz. or smaller and all contained in a quart size zip lock bag. be sure to show this when you go through security.

Yes, you should be able to bring it on the flight. Unless it has some sort of sharp blade/edge, or is one of the butane-heated type, you'll be fine.

I am almost positive you can. You should call your airline's toll free number and ask one of their customer service reps since you're getting on their plane.

If you are carrying on the bag I wouldn't. It could probably go in checked baggage.
