A patent is a set of exclusive rights granted by a state to a patentee for a fixed period of time in exchange for a disclosure of an invention.

Since a record label is not an invention, you can not patent it.

You would not patent your label, but you could register (TM) or (R) your label's logo and business name.

I would incorporate your business (S Corporation) in Nevada or Delaware by using the following online registration svc:

http://www.incorp.com/

Then get a PROFESSIONAL logo design company to design your CUSTOM logo:

http://www.biz-logo.com/

Make sure your logo can be reduced to various sizes for printing on biz cards as well as billboards. Ask for Nathan when u contact Biz-Logo. He does GREAT work. Tell him that Alton from SASC referred you.

Let me know when your label is featured on the cover of Vibe!

:-)

Copyright? Not patent, for that.
