I got a divorce and my husband screwed me over and I need to get this crap off my credit. There's got to be a way to clear it up isn't there?

NO, not unless you file bankruptcy or if it was charged in error or if it was charged illegally. Other than that, you are responsible for these bills. You either pay it or not pay it & have bad credit.

Your credit file is a history of your credit habits. When you were married, you apparently had joint accounts with your now ex-husband, and this activity will reflect in your history as well.

There is no way to remove such activity from your file. That is what the credit file is intended to provide.....a history of your financial responsibility to those who inquire about it.

If you owe it you need to pay it. If you are disputing it with all three credit bureaus, then you need to file a dispute with the credit bureaus, which are Experian, Trans Union and Equifax, and they will in turn send correspondence to the creditor you are disputing. The creditor has 30 days to respond to your dispute. If the creditor does not respond to your dispute, then the credit bureaus will remove it.

Like the first post said, you could file bankruptcy. However, note that bankruptcy does not relieve you of ALL debt. Some debts must still be repaid with what personal possessions you may have.

Help U is right, but if the creditor verifies the entry at a later time, they can always put it back on your report.
