It isn't? It seems to me that more Atheists respond and actually wish to discuss things whereas more religious people respond with a how-dare-you-question-my-religion attitude.

However, there are plenty of rude Atheists who won't give you the time of day and many religious people who enjoy debate as a way to further explore their faith.

I think it is more the people than their religious beliefs.
