I was raised very strict Christian and have spent up to ten hours a week in Sunday School and Seminary classes in high school. I feel I have been given a knowledge and the skills needed to interpret gospel writings. With all this I stopped attending church for ten years and just this year started to go back. I have learned a lot about religion and myself from this dynamic.
First, I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Second, I know for a fact that man is not perfect. As a result even the best intentions can be harmful when man is added into the mix. We judge, we're hypocritical, and we have the need to always be right so we can be saved.
I will always have a skepticism about the mob mentality, but I can also give valid reasons for my questions. I also know that congregations are their own community, and sometimes we need the group support, after all we're only human. I also acknowledge that Christ set up the church with Men holding the priesthood and the keys to lights, and Women holding the power of life. I am OK with this because I have seen this truth in action. I can stand by myself, and be just fine.

What makes one think the way you do?We do not need confirmation from others. We fellowship because of our love for others, not to be dictated too. Ministers are there for the immature and the unlearned. A well man needs not a physician a sick one does. We live as a testimony for others the unsaved, Would you leave your house empty, when you know someone is coming looking to be fed.Where is the love then. We are the validation and the confirmation of the word of God. No man stands up for a man that is whole.

God does not mean for Christians to be alone. We don't need validation from each other, but fellowship. We worship the same God, and praise Him together. That does not make us needy and incapable of our own thought.
The bible tells us to be surrounded with others of the faith.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 (Belail is Satan)
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

Who said that we're surrounded by supporters? As far as I know, the Public Schools pretty much took care of that particular "Problem". Anyhow, strong Christians will take anything you throw at them. And weak Christians could use a little persecution to toughen them up.
But I digress. To answer your question: Yes I could easily stand on my own two feet.

I can stand on my own two feet. Absolutely.
As for interpreting the Bible, scripture tells us not to rely on our own understanding and to test all things. Therefore, we should continue to study, seek guidance from other Christians and pray about all scriptural matters.

Of course Christians can, but with anything else in live, United we stand and divided we fall. It's hard to stand strong when you are by yourself. We all need encouragement.
