If looked at in context, it appears to mean that if a person willfully turns away from Christ after having the absolute knowlege of Christs reality which comes through the holy spirit, and turns instead to a pagan religion so they can do as they please...they are lost forever. The reason being...that they knew that Christ was the savior...and still went against him. It would be nearly impossible for a person with a personal relationship with Christ/God to simply walk away as they would suffer a tremendous loss in their spirit. This is kind of difficult to explain if you do not have that relationship because you would not understand what it means to have the holy spirit living inside your spirit. But, I suppose it is possible that something might have occurred to turn one against Christ...and out of anger a person decided agaist him. I personally can't imagine it.

Well, without digging into it too much, I read that to refer to people who began to follow Christ, then turned away. So the author of Hebrews seems to be saying that people who reject faith, after once having had faith in Christ, aren't likely to go back. But I think it would be good to do some research on what the context of Hebrews was.

I understand Heb. 6:4-6 to mean that one who has heard The Truth and knows it To be The Truth... no misunderstanding and not truly knowing... but knowing fully and still rejecting... this may be possable... but I can not emagin it...... there are manywho have heard part, or distorted portions(such as are seen on YA for instance) and because of this mis-information, have rejected God's Word... But for one to actualy know The Truth and reject.. that is beyond my understanding... I only know that when I finaly heard The Truth I did not reject it...Perasonaly I do not think... in this day... that there are any who would reject The Truth if they fully receive it.

Bcause today, The Full Truth can only come from God... not from any man or work of man... nore from any book or doctrin or dogma... only God can reveal The Full Truth... but...it is true that all are free to reject even when God reveals His Word to them...In that case then, yes, I would have to say they would not get another chance.

It is a statement of fact. It would be impossible for someone whom God has shown His truth, to fall away. Nothing more, nothing less.
A "saved" person would not "fall away." It would be impossible for them to. That is all this verse is saying. People can twist it however they like.

It is my understanding that when one who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior they now belong to Him.

God judges the people who do not belong to Christ. Christ judges those who belong to Him. He tells us that He will never turn away from us. However, a Christian can turn away from Him and no longer desire salvation. They would then be lost.

By deliberately turning away from Christ back and forth in our old live style we are cutting our self off from God's forgiveness.
