I don't like being the one who actually talks to people, but I love listening to other people having conversations and figuring out their lives. I love finding information that is hard to find. I love writing. I love studying politics and government. I want to have a degree that I can do many different things and I want to be able to do a job that is in demand. I don't want to think outside the box... I just want to find facts that are pretty much black and white. I don't care about making a ton of money and I don't care about recognition or social status or anything.... I just care about actually having a job and I would like to have a degree where I can choose to either travel or stay in one place and a job that pays the billss

Accountant, Statistician, English degree, Political Science degree.

Really your bachelor's degree is just about getting it done. You can get any job with a bachelor's degree. Master's degrees and Ph.d's are more for specialized jobs.

Great question and a very important one. You did not mention your major or the kind of college you are attending or how you like it. First it would be a good idea to find out what you really like to do. This is called finding your passion. This is work you woulf love to do and might be amazed that they would pay you to do it. (And they will). Look around you at school and in the commmunity to see what others are doing. How do you feel about their jobs? The reality is that you do need to do something to make money. Do you ever think that you might settle down and raise a family? That takes money. What are your dreams? Where do you see yourself in ten years? Then there is the idea of security -- you know, having enough in the bank for a rainy day and for retirement. There is nothing quite so good as having enough money in the bank to weather the storms of life. Another aspect is the ability to be relatively independent and not needing the continual help of family or friends. Ultimately it means taking responsibility for your own face. What you might do is train for a job that has high demand - I'm talking about traning that lasts for weeks to months like Nurses Aide or some Medical Technician. Training like that keeps the wolf from the door while you decide your next step. Using your brain to make a living usually requires a professional degree unless your name is Ari Onasis (the deceased billionaire who never went to school). In the meantime go to your advisor and ask to be aptitude tested. It is good you are asking these questions and it would be good to find out about yourself befor you go much further. All the best.

Auditors do a lot of this type work; best course of study would be accounting. Not all auditors work financing; many study business operations to ensure compliance with regulations and mandates. This would take some education in the areas you are interested in auditing. You might consider journalism (investigative reporter or similar), criminal justice, Social Service work or possibly an insurance investigator.

You should study chemical engineering and then work as a party clown. hey, you ask a bunch of strangers what you should do for a living, don't expect to get answers that will actually appeal to you.

Therapist/Counsellor
Guidance/Employment Counsellor
Genealogist
Biographer
Journalist
Researcher

But first you need to go to an employment counsellor and ask to have an interest and aptitude test. This will help give you better direction.

Good luck

You could have a job in social work or counseling. Or maybe a legal assistant or something in research.
