i am 19 an i need to lose 50 pounds pronto before aug 27 or my life in college is gonna be hell again this semester

you didnt gain 50lbs in 2 months so dont expect to lose them in 2 months.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

first of all, losing 50 pounds is something that will take a little longer, on average you should lose 2-3 pounds a week, so you will lose about 25-30 pounds before then. you have to do it the healthy way or it will all come back! join a gym, go 3 times a week and take some aerobic classes, if you can't join a gym do an aerobic exercise for about 20 minutes 3-4 times a wk (ex: jogging, swimming, an exercise tape), eat healthy foods and control your portions, follow the food pyramid! drink about 8 glasses of water a day and try not to stay inside and watch tv or stay on the computer a lot. BE PATIENT, as long as you do it the healthy way and stick to a schedule you will lose the weight just don't push yourself to hard. remember if you try starving yourself or anything like that you will just get depressed and sick! plz do it the healthy way and you will see results!

for ease, I'm reposting this answer from an almost identical question. this is assuming you had a four month diet plan... either way, this method is good for two pounds a day of loss.

ok, if that's what you want, let's take a look at it realistically. to do it with basic cutting calories and excercise, assuming we don't add weight in muscle, you want to burn roughly 170,000 calories. that's 1400 calories a day. assuming that you burn a good 500 calories a day in cardio, that means you need to cut out 900 calories from your ideal caloric intake. and assuming your ideal is probably less than 2000, that will be close to impossible.

an alternative would be the master cleanser or "lemonade diet". you can do a google search to find out about it. a ten day lemonade fast would shed about 2 pounds a day.. one 10 day stint a month would put you at your goal. you still need to eat right, of course, but it's the only way to do it. also, anyone that responds to this answer will say nothing but negative things about it, you're going to have to make your own decision.

for what it's worth, I lost over 50 pounds of fat on it, with a MINIMUM amount of muscle loss, and never felt healthier afterwards. that's my testimony, and it was the best thing I ever did for my health and appearance. good luck.

College is not high school and people are more acceptable/ receptive of who you are are and not so much what you look like. Don't live your life for others, be in it and live for yourself. No one will like/ love you until you feel that way. Other than that all I can tell you is get out and walk because there is no quick solution to weight loss otherwise someone would have corned the market.

this is too much weight to lose in this short time! But that does not mean that you could not start working on it. the best way to lose weight is to eat healthy food and exercise as much as you can all together.

Eat low fat foods. Do not eat any foods over 5 grams of fat a serving

Do Cardio at the gym everyday for at least 45 mintues. Every day.

Eat only vegetables, fruit, lean meat and LOW FAT foods.

In six weeks you will see a dramatic difference.

not possible to lose 50 lbs by August
eat healthy and exersize and you will lose weight just not 50 lbs
