Particularly if that someone misuses the concept of theory to try to convince you of the wisdom of their belief system? Would it help if that someone were to be exposed to Bacon?

I would never trust my soul to someone who is too ignorant to accept proof that is right in their face. To be willfully ignorant is shameful.

Maybe that person is not a science whiz and doesn't know the correct terminology. But that doesn't make the person stupid. Is it really logical to believe that every living organism evolved by mistake from rocks, in light of their awesome diversity and incredible complexity? Remember, according to your theory, it rained on the rocks for millions of years and turned them into soup. Then the soup came alive about 4 billion years ago and we all evolved from that. It doesn't seem likely to me. I think it's a better possibility that God designed us and there was a fall in Eden, which created many serious problems, which we are still dealing with today. Evidence of good design with corruption is all around you every day. Just open up your eyes and look.

evolution is crap. i hate how evolutionists say that it is a fact. IT IS NOT. how hard is it to admit it, Picture a bunch of scientists on tv, or better yet in front of a bunch of student's parents saying "oh yeah, we lied about the age of the earth and how we got here and we shoved it down your kid's throats and made them into uninformed idiots" how well would that go over. it would be very satisfying though

Of course not, it means the person either doesn't know what they're talking about, or they are intentionally misleading you for their own agenda. I wouldn't trust this type of person to watch my dirty laundry, much less with my thoughts and beliefs.
