I'm learning Spanish using the Buen Viaje Level 1 book. Is there a good way that I can practice my Spanish during the summer? Should I get one of their books, or should I get another book? I just want to come back next year not totally unprepared, and I want to able to talk (albeit slowly and probably wrong) to some people I know in their own language. Thank you!!!!!!!

The biggest problem when learning a new language is remembering what you've learned.

To help you remember your Spanish, try these tips:

- Find a friend who speaks Spanish fluently, and ask her to help you out. It'll be fun for both of you, and it isn't as embarrassing as trying it out on random strangers.

- Watch Spanish movies / TV shows (a.k.a. Telemundo!) and listen to Spanish music.

- THINK in Spanish. This is the most IMPORTANT thing you can do if you want to remember what you learned. It's a great way to practice a language without actually having to speak it. Next time you have a thought, try to work out how that thought might sound in Spanish, then repeat it to yourself.

I'm kind of in the same situation with my spanish. If you immerse yourself with spanish music or try and find some spanish books or tv shows you should be able to keep up. Try finding a penpal in Central/South America or something. Not only do you get to practice but you can make a good friend!

I remorse that I handiest were equipped to take Spanish for a yr in prime tuition and no more. I use it even though and feature continuously performed so, even though so much much less now. I've retained it that means, so are you able to, inspite of non Spanish talking individuals, writing emails and letters to others, chatting, and so forth. Just use it! I've been as much as somewhat of a hundred and twenty plus languages ago, even though it is so much much less at present! Even in case you handiest take one or 2 extra semesters of it, it is a well factor. Use it for your process as good as for your day after day routine, even search out individuals to speak with in Spanish! Because of the languages I've identified or recognize, I attempt to speak with each person! El es buena para ti! A plus tard mon amie/Hasta luego mi amiga!

Listen to music in Sapnish. You might have to look up some words, which is good for helping your memory. The music will stick in your head and help you to remember words and phrases. The souldtrack to "Amores Perros" has some great contemporary rock songs on it. There is so much great music in Spanish - salsa, son (Cuban), tango, etc.

Also, watch tv shows in Spanish. I like to watch "Que Dice la Gente" (spanish language version of Family Feud). It's funny, fairly easy to follow, and the host is more attractive and has a better personality than Richard Dawson.

Try to speak Spanish as often as you can. There's also probably some Spanish class you could join to keep up your Spanish.
