To enforce the laws?

2007-06-06 15:50:43 · answer #1 · answered by Legally Brunette 3 · 3 1

The personnel in the executive branch of our gov't are there to execute the laws of the land. Why does the land need laws? Laws prevent anarchy. Pick a crime, any crime...take a simple theft for instance. what would happen if everyone went around just taking things they felt they should have? If everyone were able to think to themselves, now that thing there is pretty nice, I think I want it and therefor am just going to go over and take it. What is to stop them? If you suggest the owner stop them, by what means? Violence? Nah, that wouldn't work. that would make for too many dead bodies in the streets. Some might argue at times why that might not be a bad thing depending upon whose body, and I might be one of them, but let's pretend to act like we're civilized. Most people are kept in line most of the time because they know there are laws and persons who will enforce those laws. Yes, there are some individuals who do not care for any law or what it may say, but for those who are borderline, their criminal thoughts are never put into action because they know there will be a punishment for that action. The law enforcement officers [at any level municipal, state or federal] make sure the laws are followed by the members of the populace.
Remember, though, all the police do is enforce the laws, they don't write them. If you don't agree with a law, get with members of the legislative branch. All the executive branch can do is enforce the drivel the legislative branch has voted on.

It may have seemed to be effective you know protect the citizens and in many ways it still is a form of protection.

Maybe the protection has a great intimidation factor!

Definite in fear factor!

This is the only form of CONTROL governments know and have known for centuries, the original Fathers of America made our Country the greatest Country in the World. We had a declaration of Independence. We had a true feeling of Freedom. But when the Government Federal and State pass thousands of laws every year with out the citizens approval, laws that infringe and strip us of that Indecency in the names of Corporate Laws, Homeland Security in the Names of Terrorists, laws that reducing us to the first and second stages of Marshal Law. I have to agree and must ask all Americans is this what we want, to have these laws forced on us?

The number one single main purpose of law enforcement is to preserve the status quo, and is a carry over from medieval times when royalty, barons, knights, etc., had rights, but the serfs had no rights.
The second main reason for law enforcement is revenue enhancement (it is the principle source of revenue for many municiplities).
Thirdly, it gives bullies and sneaks a good place to work. They seldom serve time for any crime.
PROOF: Have you EVER seen any law enforcement personnel any where in the world that did NOT break the law?
