I would really like to work for Delta Airlines. I am wondering what sort of majors would be best to obtain a career in the airline industry. I am considering communications, business, or French, and I was wondering what sort of jobs the airline industry has that uses those majors.

Any information is welcome. Thanks!

Also if you could add a ballpark salary estimate with any careers. But only if you have an idea. Thanks.

There are many different types of jobs available at Delta Airlines. If you check their Career page, you will surely find jobs available for those interested in:
-Accounting/Auditing/Finance
-Administrative and Support Services
-Airport Operations/Management
-Cargo Operations/Management
-Engineering
-Flight Operations/Management
-Human Resources
-In-Flight Services/Management
-Maintenance/Technical Operations
-Marketing/Sales Account Management
-Reservations/Call Center Management
-Safety/Security/Compliance
-Supply Chain/Sourcing/Procurement
-Training/Education/Design

The major that you take will depend largely on the career path you want to pursue. Communications would be a good place to go if you were interested in working in Advertising or Public Relations (but you will need to be sure that these types of positions aren't outsourced to other firms. French would be helpful if you were going to be a translator, customer service representative, or reservation agent. Business will help you in a large number of these positions.

Decide which type of position you are interested in first and then take a look at the qualifications listed for that type of job and jobs beyond it, in case you are interested in advancement someday. Let this be your guide.

Look on the Delta website to see what requirements are necessary for the job you want. I doubt if they are concerned about your college major.
